My New Secret Study Stack 🫶

A day in my life as a uni student

Today, I’m challenging myself to study for 12 hours straight. I don’t know if I can pull it off, but I’m going to give it a try. To make it happen, I’ll be using my favorite study stack: GoodNotes, Claude AI, and “Gamma.app”

One new feature of Gamma I just discovered is that you can now create a presentation directly within Claude while you’re working. It’s so convenient and fast since I don’t need to switch tabs. I can even edit or add information from Claude, and it automatically updates the slides.

Now I don’t need to switch over to Gamma anymore; I can do everything within Claude. It’s always ready whenever I need to study or work.

Huge thanks to Claude and Gamma for making my challenge a success.

... Read moreAfter pushing through that intense 12-hour study marathon, I truly realized how much my go-to tech stack, especially GoodNotes and Claude AI, saved my academic life! You know how a 'day in my life' as a uni student can get super hectic, especially when you're aiming for a goal like studying for 12 hours straight. It’s not just about willpower; it’s about having the right tools. For me, GoodNotes has always been my digital notebook hero. Before I even think about tackling my two subjects, I dump all my lecture notes, textbook readings, and research into GoodNotes. It’s not just for scribbling; I can annotate PDFs, highlight key points, and organize everything into neat folders. This was crucial for my presentation prep. When I'm gathering information, say for a complex topic like 'The Information Architect's Role,' having all my source material digitally accessible and searchable in GoodNotes makes a world of difference. It's like having a perfectly indexed library in my iPad. Then comes Claude AI, my secret weapon for understanding and processing information. While the original post highlighted its amazing integration with Gamma for building presentations directly, I use Claude for so much more. After I've gone through my notes in GoodNotes, if there’s a concept that’s still fuzzy or I need a quick summary of a long reading, I’ll paste it into Claude. It’s incredible at breaking down complex ideas, generating concise summaries, or even brainstorming essay outlines. For those 'slides for presentations' moments, Claude not only helps build them with Gamma but also helps me refine the content going into those slides. I can ask it to rephrase points, explain nuances, or even suggest counter-arguments for my arguments, making sure my presentations are robust. The synergy between GoodNotes and Claude is where the magic truly happens. I can easily grab text from my GoodNotes documents and feed it directly into Claude for analysis. Then, any insights or summaries Claude provides, I can instantly paste back into GoodNotes, refining my original notes or creating new summary sheets. This back-and-forth process ensures that I’m not just passively consuming information but actively engaging with it, making comprehension much deeper. And because Claude can 'automatically update the slide' when new information is added, it means my presentation adapts as my understanding evolves, even during a marathon study session. A little tip I learned: while 'Claude is AI and can make mistakes,' it’s a brilliant starting point. Always double-check its output against your primary sources, but it dramatically cuts down research and synthesis time. For someone like me who needs to put together multiple presentations, this workflow is a lifesaver. It helps me focus on the critical thinking rather than getting bogged down in organizing and formatting. Finishing my 12 hours felt achievable because of this efficient system. Whether I'm at my desk or enjoying the 'super spacious vibe' of a matcha shop, this digital duo makes sure I'm always productive and prepared.
