NYU Plog🪻|Becoming a High-Energy Person

After studying at NYU for so long, I suddenly realized how amazing I am! It's hard to imagine how I've survived this journey. These past three months, I've basically had exams every week—finishing one test, barely having a day or two to catch my breath, before diving into studying for the next one.

My Journey to Higher Energy

Recently, I've been working incredibly hard to adjust my daily rhythm because I desperately want to become a high-energy person! This way, my day can be divided into multiple productive time blocks where I can efficiently complete various tasks. I'd love to share my experiments with you all and hope you'll join the discussion in the comments with your effective methods too:

🌟 Don't Force Yourself When You're Not Ready

Stop forcing yourself to do things you don't want to do in the moment! Like studying when you're sleepy—it's truly ineffective! Instead, take a 10-20 minute nap and don't feel guilty about it. ❌ This isn't wasting time—it's helping you restore energy! Only after recovering your energy can you complete tasks more efficiently.

🌟 Sleep Quality > Sleep Duration

The length of your sleep doesn't equal sleep quality. You must work on improving your sleep quality! Try listening to soothing music before bed, or practice pre-sleep meditation or bedtime yoga to adjust your breathing 🧘‍♀️. Also, choose softer, skin-friendly blankets and pillows. My previous MUJI blanket was too light, so I switched to a thicker silk comforter from Vesta. In winter, I definitely prefer blankets with a bit more weight—they make me feel more secure when I sleep.

🌟 Focus on Process, Not Results

Let go and just do it without obsessing over results! I discovered that I was constantly fixating on potential outcomes and anxious about negative results. While I should have been focusing on studying, my thoughts would drift to worrying about outcomes, ultimately fulfilling my own negative prophecies. If something bad has already happened, trust that things will turn around! Putting your energy into the process will yield better results than putting energy into anxiety about outcomes.

Final Thoughts

I hope everyone can become a high-energy person with abundant vitality!

... Read moreIn today's fast-paced world, many individuals struggle with low energy levels, especially students facing rigorous academic schedules. Cultivating higher energy is essential not just for productivity, but also for maintaining overall well-being. One major factor affecting energy levels is sleep. Prioritizing sleep quality over quantity can significantly impact how energized you feel. Consider establishing a bedtime routine that includes relaxation techniques such as meditation or gentle yoga. Studies have shown that quality sleep enhances cognitive function and improves mood, leading to higher energy during the day. Nutrition also plays a crucial role in energy management. Incorporating nutrient-dense foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins into your diet can provide sustained energy. Avoiding excessive sugar and refined carbohydrates will help prevent energy crashes. Additionally, staying well-hydrated is vital; dehydration can lead to fatigue and decreased concentration. Moreover, maintaining a balanced routine that allows for regular breaks can boost energy significantly. Techniques such as the Pomodoro Technique, which encourages 25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break, can enhance productivity without overwhelming your energy levels. Lastly, engaging in physical activity is a proven method to increase energy. Whether it’s taking a brisk walk, practicing yoga, or engaging in your favorite workout, moving your body releases endorphins that naturally elevate mood and energy. Incorporate short bouts of exercise into your day to see the difference in your vitality. By adhering to these practices, not only can you aspire to become a high-energy individual, but you can also foster a healthier lifestyle overall. Share your own strategies for boosting energy in the comments below!

how I lost 14 lbs by eating right, not less!
I eat more now than I did on the left — I had a bad relationship with food and I was lazy when it came to cooking. I used to be one of those girls that would count calories, eat “fat free”, wait until 4/5pm to have a bite of food… I would be so hungry I’d binge, understandably. I would feel so
