5 Trends I’m Skipping This Spring

Looking to build a wardrobe full of pieces you’ll love and wear for a long time? Here’s five trends to skip this spring.

1. Horseshoe Jeans in Highlighter Bright Colors: I'm all for embracing color when getting dressed but this shape of trouser and this bright of a color just isn't something you're gonna wear long term.

2. Tie Front Shirts: I know there are a lot of people that love these but I don't understand how most people are wearing these in real life. You cannot wear anything under them. It is so impractical.

3. Pajamas as Outerwear: Don't get me started on how every model wearing this on every brand's website is standing with their hand in their pocket. It's not going to look like this when you wear it IRL and a year from now no one's going to be wearing these out in public.

4. Bubble Hems: Every brand is trying to push a bubble hem so hard right now and it's just not good.

5. Peter Pan Collars: I know we're all very much into the Ganni Copenhagen vibe but this is not good. You're gonna look like your in a costume.

Let's delve deeper into the five trends to skip this season. 1. **Horseshoe Jeans in Highlighter Bright Colors**: While vibrant colors can elevate your outfits, highlighter hues in this shape are rarely flattering. They can easily overwhelm your look and may not stand the test of time. 2. **Tie Front Shirts**: These tops’ appeal often falls flat in practical situations. They restrict layering options and may end up untouched in your closet. 3. **Pajamas as Outerwear**: This trend might look chic on models, but the reality is far from glamorous. Instead of effortlessly appearing fashionable, you may just feel underdressed when stepping outside. 4. **Bubble Hems**: Though many brands push this silhouette, it often lacks sophistication. These garments can visually shorten the body, making them less flattering for various body types. 5. **Peter Pan Collars**: This nostalgic detail may look cute in theory, but it risks making your outfit feel costume-like. It’s better to opt for styles that add a timeless flair without overtly referencing past trends. Keeping these insights in mind can help you navigate the spring fashion landscape with confidence. Embrace styles that focus on durability and personal expression rather than fleeting trends.
