Healing is weird
It's so true, healing really is weird! You know those days when you wake up and feel genuinely okay, even fine, and then suddenly you're hit with a wave of something else? It's like you're on a rollercoaster – one moment you're soaring high with a sense of peace, the next you're plunging into familiar pain. I used to think healing meant a straight line to feeling consistently good, but I've learned it's far from it. For a long time, I found it incredibly challenging to reconcile feeling an unusual sense of well-being with the fact that I was still in the midst of a healing journey. It felt almost...wrong to feel good when I knew there was still so much to process. But I've realized these flashes of feeling fresh and energized are crucial. They're not signs that you're "done" with healing, but rather little beacons showing you what's possible, what you're working towards. It's okay to savor those moments; they're part of the process too. One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that you truly don't navigate the complexities of it alone. It’s so important to find your people, whether that’s a trusted friend, a therapist, or an online community where you can share your experiences. Talking about the rough patches and even the unexpectedly high moments can be incredibly validating. When you know others are experiencing similar weird shifts, it makes your own journey feel less isolating. Don't be afraid to reach out on days when you're struggling, or even when you're feeling surprisingly well and just want to share that good feeling. There's so much power in connection. Healing is a messy masterpiece, isn't it? It's not a clear blueprint; sometimes it feels like you're just splashing paint on a canvas with a paintbrush, not quite seeing the full picture until much later. There will be days that are harder, where the pain feels more present, and that’s perfectly normal. The key is to keep going, to keep putting one foot forward. Even when it feels like you’re taking two steps back, you’re still moving. Imagine your journey as a winding path, not a straight highway. There are detours, scenic routes, and sometimes you just need to pause and take a breather. Remember, it's your journey, and there's no right or wrong way for it to unfold. If you've been feeling like your healing journey is all over the place, full of paradoxes and unexpected turns, please know you're not alone. It's a process that unfolds in time, often without a clear schedule. Embrace the weird moments, the moments of unexpected joy, and the moments of profound sadness. All of its part of becoming who you're meant to be. Just remember to be kind to yourself through it all, because every step, even the small ones, is progress towards a more whole and fresh you. Keep doing what you need to do, day by day, and trust the process, even when it feels weird.
