I used a gentle brush designed for curly hair and avoided harsh tugging to prevent breakage. A crucial part of this process was timing. Instead of brushing dry hair, I focused on brushing when my hair was damp and coated with a leave-in conditioner to enhance smoothness and reduce frizz. This method helped separate curls gently and create a more uniform curl shape. In addition to brushing, maintaining healthy hair through regular deep conditioning and using curl-friendly hair products made a significant difference. I also learned that patience is key—improvements in curl definition appeared gradually rather than overnight. Through this journey, I discovered that embracing my natural ginger hair color and its unique texture gave me more confidence to experiment with styling.
