Not all heroes ride horses, some push Donkeys!

In Africa, lending a hand isn’t something you think about—it’s just something you do. 💪

While driving back to camp through the village, we came upon a young boy and his donkeys struggling to pull a scotch cart full of buckets of water up a steep hill.

Before I even recognized the scotch cart was stuck, Admire jumped out, and pushed the cart up the hill, and sprinted back to hop in the Land Cruiser.

It was such a small moment—but also so telling. Admire doesn’t just work in the community. He’s a part of it.

That’s the beauty of CAMPFIRE areas: hunting operators hire locals, support their communities, and create a culture where conservation and compassion go hand-in-hand. It allows locals to work…while staying IN their OWN community instead of moving to cities to find work.

This was a moment that made me smile. It reminded me that although we may travel to Africa for the wildlife, it is the people who truly capture your heart. ❤️
