How can AI access our data? The new Anthropic policy is effective on July 8, 2026. This cycle sends an email update directly to those of us who use common accounts like Claude Free, Pro and Max. We summarize the key points to check them out easily.
Q: What has changed this round?
A: In the new policy, there's a lot more talk about multi-step tasks, connected apps and third-party services. It's perfect for Claude's recent release of a new model like Fable5 that focuses on complex tasks and long tasks instead of us. As AI starts to connect more external apps and work ourselves, we have to come back and see data access again.
Q: Where do you need to check in the app?
A: We have already pressed it. There are three important points that everyone should check.
1 Privacy: Look directly at Help improve our AI models whether we are on or off (if closed, they will not take our chat to train)
2 Connectors: See what apps we've left behind
3 Tools permission: See if we set the tool license to Blocked, Needs approval, or Always allow.
Q: Why is this important and to pay attention?
A: For us, data and privacy are something to check with all AI. Not only Claude. Regardless of which ChatGPT, Gemini or tools everyone uses, you should go back to the settings of what info we send. The more AI develops to the agent before you allow, you should know what AI can access our data.
Q: Are there any other precautions to use?
A: What we often emphasize is that when using AI, this kind of general account, we will not put any sensitive personal information and no company or customer information. If it is important, we should move to the Business or Enterprise AI side. It is much safer to separate data governance.
