if you’re new here, hi 💓… I’m Stephanie, a former lawyer turned full time content creator, living in Connecticut.
When I first created this space, fashion was the center of everything I shared here, and honestly it always will be one of the biggest parts of this page. I will forever be the girl making an outfit plan for absolutely everything and overdressing for every occasion.
But over the last year, I found myself in a really dark place mentally. Between a lot of health related things and navigating the weird limbo that comes with TTC, I slowly started losing pieces of myself without even realizing it. I stopped getting dressed in the morning. I stopped leaving the house. And I stopped caring about things that used to make me happy.
And one day I realized I missed feeling like myself.
So I made a promise to myself to start finding my way back to happiness again. I started gardening. I started forcing myself to leave the house more and making plans with friends again. And honestly? I remembered how genuinely healing it can be to be around people.
And that’s where this new hosting series #overatmyplace came from.
What started as me wanting an excuse to gather people together somehow became something so much more meaningful. It became my way of romanticizing life again during a season where I really needed it most. A way to reconnect with people, reconnect with myself, and bring back some of the light I felt myself slowly losing for a while.
So now this page has become a little bit of everything I love… fashion, hosting, travel, cozy nights at home, overly themed parties, and finding beauty in ordinary life again. If any of that sounds like your thing, I’m really happy you’re here.
And it goes without saying, but if you’re walking through a really difficult season too… whether it’s TTC, anxiety, grief, burnout, depression, or honestly just feeling stuck in life I really hope this page reminds you to romanticize your life a little more. You deserve all the happiness in the world. 🫶🏼 #findingjoy #hostingseries #letmeintroducemyself #inspirational
Over the past year, I’ve learned that healing isn’t always linear—it’s a series of small, intentional steps that together weave back the fabric of your well-being. What really stood out for me during this season was how important it was to find simple joys that grounded me. Whether it was the act of gardening, stepping outside just for a breath of fresh air, or setting up small gatherings with close friends, these moments slowly reminded me of who I was beyond my struggles. One unexpected but deeply meaningful discovery was the power of hosting. Inviting others "#overatmyplace" became more than just a reason to socialize—it was a nurturing ritual that helped me reconnect with my creative side and my community. Designing personalized, cozy, and sometimes whimsical get-togethers brought color and energy back into my life when it felt like everything was dull and overwhelming. Romanticizing life doesn’t necessarily mean big gestures; it’s about cherishing everyday beauty in ways that feel authentic and restorative. For me, fashion remains a joyful outlet—a way to express my mood and mindset each day. Even during tough times, putting together an outfit that makes me feel good helps shift my perspective and boost confidence. Navigating TTC (trying to conceive) added an extra layer of emotional complexity. It’s a journey marked by uncertainty and hope, and sometimes heartbreak. But sharing this part of my story has been incredibly freeing because it connects me with others who understand the silent struggles. Embracing vulnerability here allows space for healing and community support. If you’re facing your own difficult season—whether it’s anxiety, grief, or simply feeling stuck—I hope you can find small practices that rekindle your light. Whether that means hosting a themed party, stepping outside into the garden, or simply taking a moment to dress for yourself, these little acts can be transformative. Remember, happiness is not a destination but a series of moments we choose to create. Let’s find joy in the ordinary and remember to take care of ourselves and each other along the way.
