Alongside breakfast, I incorporated lean protein sources such as turkey bacon and oven-roasted chicken breast, which kept me satiated and maintained muscle mass. For instance, a typical lunch might include 1.5 ounces of whole wheat bread, several slices of chicken breast, a slice of American cheese, and a sunny side up egg, coming to roughly 365 calories. Snacking on frozen Greek yogurt bars like Yasso, with their low-calorie and protein-rich profile, helped satisfy cravings without derailing progress. I also prioritized hydration and nutrient-dense foods such as fresh cherries, which provided antioxidants and fiber. It's important to avoid overly restrictive diets; instead, I focused on manageable changes that made me feel satisfied and motivated. Tracking macros and calories was simple with available apps, making it easier to stay accountable. Regular physical activity complemented my dietary efforts. Even if you can only spare moderate exercise, it significantly improves results when combined with a healthy diet. This journey wasn't just about the number on the scale but about improving overall health — including increased energy, better sleep, and enhanced mood.
