Her Poetry was & still is POWER

2/18 Edited to

... Read moreMaya Angelou's poetry has a unique way of connecting with readers on a deeply personal level. "Phenomenal Woman," one of her most beloved poems, stands out as a celebration of confidence, inner strength, and self-acceptance. Through vivid imagery and rhythmic verses, Angelou invites us to recognize the beauty and power within ourselves beyond external appearances. Personally, reading "Phenomenal Woman" has been a transformative experience. It reminded me that power isn't always loud or visible; sometimes, it’s found in the quiet assurance of being true to oneself. Her words emphasize that confidence comes from embracing your individuality—the "reach of my arms," the "arch of my back," and the "fire in my eyes" are metaphors that inspire self-love and pride. During Black History Month, Angelou’s poetry resonates with special significance, highlighting the strength and resilience of Black women throughout history. Her work encourages us to honor not just her legacy but also the countless phenomenal women who continue to break barriers and inspire future generations. What makes Maya Angelou's poetry still powerful today is its universal message and raw honesty. Whether you are discovering her poems for the first time or revisiting old favorites, her words continue to offer comfort, empowerment, and a call to celebrate what makes each of us phenomenal in our own way.

Poetry and Witchcraft
Amanda Lovelace has been my favorite poet author for years. Finding out she is actually a witch was INCREDIBLE. I’ve also recently acquired her witchcraft book, which I’ll share my review on later. But as for witchcraft and poetry, I’m a strong believer that they may go hand and hand at times.
