Peace in the Storm

I wanted to share a glimpse of my notes from a sermon I listened to this morning.

this sermon was about Peter doubting Jesus on the boat in Matthew 14:29-36. to sum it up, Jesus told Peter to walk on water. Peter stepped out, but became afraid when he saw the wind and began to sink.

Peter was so close. why did he go that far, to start doubting and fall down? YOU are this close! YOU did not come this far to fall down now!

keep your faith in God. let go of doubt. you’ve trusted Him this far, don’t start doubting now. you are so close. #scripture #jesuslovesyou #ttcjourney #infertilityjourney #dailyprayer

... Read moreIn life's storms, it's common to feel overwhelmed and to question our faith. The story of Peter walking on water teaches us that doubt can creep in when we focus on our surroundings rather than on God. Just as Peter began to sink when he looked away from Jesus, we too can lose our footing in faith when we become consumed by our circumstances. Remember that spiritual growth often comes through challenging experiences. Each storm we face serves a purpose, whether it's to strengthen our character, deepen our trust in God, or prepare us for future challenges. Scriptures remind us that we are never alone; God walks with us through every trial. By practicing daily prayers and affirmations of faith, we learn to keep our eyes on Jesus, allowing His strength to carry us through difficult times. It's important to acknowledge that feeling afraid or uncertain is a natural part of the human experience. However, the key is to recognize that doubt is a choice. We can choose to hold onto the promises of God, trusting that He has a plan for our lives that is greater than the storms we encounter. As you reflect on your personal journey, remember: you are so close to breakthrough. Let your faith guide you, and don't let temporary fears dictate your path.
