miscarriage talk
miscarriage. whether 4 weeks or 20. they all hurt.
iāve had four early miscarriages. all before 5 weeks. these are called āchemical pregnancies.ā well, I used to call them that, but people donāt take it seriously. one day thereās two lines, then the next thereās not. I canāt even explain the feeling. especially as someone who has tried to conceive for 4.5 years now. and it hurts not having the support from friends and family, because they donāt see it as something serious. people often say āwell at least it happened earlyā but that early didnāt give me the chance to know anything about the baby that I carried for only a few short days.
I often think about the unknown. it hurts not knowing the gender. it hurts never seeing them on ultrasound. not having a name. never hearing a heartbeat.
early miscarriages matter too. those babies were carried for the shortest amount of time, but I love them all the same. I long for them, all the same.
if youāve had an early miscarriage, you matter. your baby matters.
