東武日光駅周辺の観光って「どこから回るのが効率いい？」と迷いがち。私は“駅→東照宮”の一本道で、食べ歩きを挟みながらゆっくり進むのが一番満足度高かったです。駅前からすぐお店が続くので、到着してすぐ小腹を満たせるのも嬉しいポイント。 私のおすすめの回り方は、まず駅に着いたら軽めの1品（揚げゆばまんじゅうや、ゆば唐揚げみたいな塩気系）でスタート。朝はまだお腹が空ききってないことも多いので、ここで食べすぎないのがコツです。次に、少し歩いたところでスイーツ枠を投入。バターパンケーキみたいな“映え＋満足感”系は、食べ歩きのテンションが一気に上がりました。 日光スイーツで印象に残ったのは、ぷりんソフト系。暑い日や歩き疲れたタイミングに食べると回復力がすごいです。逆に寒い日は、SOPPO焼きやだんごみたいな温かいものが沁みました。甘い→しょっぱい→甘いの順に挟むと飽きにくくて、結果的にいろいろ食べられます。 歩く距離の目安も体感で書くと、東武日光駅周辺は“駅前〜東照宮方面”に食べ歩きスポットが集まっていて、こまめに寄り道しながらでも進みやすいです。私は写真を撮りつつでも、途中で休憩を入れながら回れました。靴は歩きやすいもの推奨。手が汚れやすいメニュー（ゆば系、ソフト系）も多いので、ウェットティッシュがあると安心です。 あと「日光の有名なもの」目当てなら、ゆば系は外せないと思います。おつまみっぽく楽しめるものもあって、甘いものが得意じゃない人ともシェアしやすかったです。食べ歩きは混みやすいので、私は早めの時間帯に駅周辺から攻めて、混雑してきたら東照宮観光に切り替える流れが快適でした。
