... Read moreOkay, seriously, I have to share my absolute newest obsession with you all! If you're anything like me and constantly dream of a decadent yet surprisingly simple dessert, then this dark chocolate almond butter ice cream made in the Ninja Creami is about to change your life. I've been experimenting for weeks, and I finally nailed the perfect creamy texture and rich flavor. Trust me, once you try this homemade treat, you won't want to go back to store-bought! Why the Ninja Creami is a Game-Changer for Ice Cream The Ninja Creami isn't just a kitchen gadget; it's a dessert magician! It transforms frozen bases into incredibly smooth, scoopable ice cream, sorbet, or gelato in minutes. For this dark chocolate almond butter creation, it helps achieve that velvety texture that's usually impossible without churning. Plus, you control all the ingredients, making it easy to whip up a treat that fits your dietary preferences. Here's What You'll Need: 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your preferred milk/dairy-free alternative) 1/4 cup creamy almond butter (natural, drippy kind works best for blending) 2-3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (adjust for how dark you like your chocolate!) 1/4 cup sweetener of choice (maple syrup, agave, erythritol, honey – whatever you prefer!) 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract A pinch of sea salt (enhances the chocolate flavor beautifully) Optional mix-ins: Dark chocolate chips or chunks, chopped roasted almonds, a swirl of extra almond butter, or even a few raspberries. My Step-by-Step Ninja Creami Recipe: Combine Ingredients: In a blender or a mixing bowl (using an immersion blender), combine the almond milk, almond butter, cocoa powder, sweetener, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Blend or whisk thoroughly until the mixture is completely smooth and there are no lumps of almond butter. This ensures a consistent flavor and texture. If you want a super rich dark chocolate ice cream, don't be shy with the cocoa! Pour and Freeze: Carefully pour the smooth mixture into your Ninja Creami pint. Make sure the liquid doesn't exceed the MAX fill line. Place the lid securely on the pint. The Patience Part: Transfer the pint to your freezer and freeze for at least 24 hours. This step is absolutely critical! The mixture needs to be frozen solid all the way through for the Ninja Creami to work its magic. Don't rush it, or you'll end up with a soupy mess. Creamify! Once your pint is frozen solid, remove it from the freezer. Place the pint into the Ninja Creami outer bowl and secure the lid with the paddle assembly. Plug in your Ninja Creami. Spin Cycle: Select the “Lite Ice Cream” or “Ice Cream” function on your Ninja Creami. Watch as your solid block transforms into a wonderfully creamy dessert! Check Consistency & Re-spin (if needed): After the first spin, check the texture. If it looks a bit crumbly or powdery (which is common, especially with lower-fat bases), don't worry! Create a small well in the center of the pint, add 1-2 tablespoons of almond milk (or water), and select the “Re-spin” function. This usually does the trick to get that perfect creamy consistency. Mix-in Magic (Optional): If you're adding mix-ins like dark chocolate bits or chopped almonds, create a small well in the center of your now-creamy ice cream. Add your desired mix-ins, then secure the lid again and select the “Mix-in” function. This will evenly distribute your delicious additions. Serve & Enjoy: Scoop out your freshly made dark chocolate almond butter ice cream and indulge! It's best enjoyed immediately. Pro Tips & Variations: For an extra decadent treat: Swap out half of the almond milk for full-fat canned coconut milk. This adds an incredible richness and creaminess! Protein Boost: Want to make it a post-workout treat? Add a scoop of chocolate or unflavored protein powder to the initial blend. You might need to adjust the sweetener slightly. Different Nut Butters: While my current obsession is almond butter, this recipe also works wonderfully with peanut butter or cashew butter for a different flavor profile. Mint Chocolate: Add a few drops of peppermint extract along with the vanilla for a refreshing mint chocolate almond butter ice cream. Storage: If you have any leftovers, simply flatten the top of the ice cream in the pint, place the lid back on, and refreeze. When you want to enjoy it again, just pop it back into the Creami for a quick re-spin! Seriously, this recipe has become my go-to whenever I need a sweet fix. It’s so satisfying, and knowing exactly what goes into it makes it even better. Give this dark chocolate almond butter ice cream a try in your Ninja Creami, and let me know how much you love it!
