🌈 DIY: 3-Color Flat Knot Bracelet ✨
Handmade with love in the garden. 🌿✨
I wanted to share this design that I love. There’s nothing like sitting in the garden, disconnecting from everything, and letting your hands work. 🌿
I took this photo on a peaceful afternoon surrounded by greenery; that moment of calm is reflected in every knot. 📸✨
It’s a meditative process that is definitely worth a try!
🧵 Materials needed:
Strings: You need 2 strings of each color (6 strings in total). 🧶
Tools: Scissors, tape (or a clipboard), and a lighter for the final touch. 🔥
📝 Step by Step:
The Art of Swapping Colors
For this bracelet, we don't use fixed core strings. The color you choose to knot will wrap around all the others, which will serve as the base. 👐
Preparation:
Secure your 6 strings leaving a loop at the top. Separate the two strings of the color you want to start with and leave the other 4 in the center. 📍
Left-to-Right Knot (The "4"):
Take the left string of the chosen color and form a number 4 over the group of center strings. 🔢
Pass the right string over the tail of the "4", then under the entire center, and pull it through the loop. Tighten firmly.
Right-to-Left Knot (The "P"):
Form a letter P with the right string over the center strings. 🔠
Pass the left string over the tail of the "P", under the center strings, and pull it through the circle of the letter. Tighten it up.
Changing Colors:
When you want to switch tones, simply tuck the strings you were using into the center group and pull the two strings of the new color out to the sides. It's that easy! 🎨
💡 Pro Tips:
Tense center:
Keep the middle strings stretched so the outer knots stay uniform. ✨
Balanced tension:
Try to apply the same force on both the "4" and the "P" so the bracelet doesn't twist. 📏
Clean finish:
When finished, cut the excess from the center strings and seal with a lighter for an invisible bond. ✂️
