Every twinkling light on the tree, every festive ornament, and especially every wide, smiling young boy makes the holiday season absolutely unforgettable. I wanted to share a little bit about how we create those cherished memories, especially focusing on making our home feel like a warm, festive wonderland for my Sonshine. This year, our festive Christmas tree is truly the star of the show in our modern lounge area. We went with a classic theme of red, white, and plaid ornaments, which are so cheerful and timeless. Stringing up the twinkling lights with my son was an adventure in itself – so many giggles and a few tangled wires, but it’s all part of the fun! We also have a special spot with wrapped gifts waiting patiently at its base, adding to the anticipation. It's not just about the gifts, though; it's about the excitement building up to that special morning. One of my favorite things is dressing him up in cozy, festive attire. This year, his black 'SLEIGHHHHHH' Christmas sweater has been a huge hit! It’s perfect for lounging around in his favorite armchair by the tree, reading holiday stories, or just soaking in the festive atmosphere. Finding cute, comfortable, and themed outfits really adds to the holiday spirit and makes for the sweetest photos. Beyond the decorations and outfits, we really focus on creating traditions. We tried some new things this year, like baking Christmas cookies from scratch, watching classic holiday movies snuggled up on the sofa, and even doing a charity drive for toys. These small moments, like him helping me place a special ornament or his eyes lighting up at the sight of the twinkling lights, are the ones I know we'll both remember for years to come. When it comes to gifts, I try to balance fun with practicality. Alongside a few toys he’s been wishing for, I love to include books, creative art supplies, or even a 'coupon book' for experiences like a special outing or a movie night. It makes those wrapped gifts feel even more thoughtful. And of course, capturing these moments is key! I always try to get candid shots of him playing or just looking at the tree, like that adorable picture of him in his armchair with that big smile. Ultimately, Christmas with kids is about creating an atmosphere of love, joy, and wonder. It's about seeing the holidays through their eyes and cherishing every single second. What are your favorite holiday traditions with your little ones?
