Having kids without getting married? Wise or not?
My partner believes marriage only benefits women. Both of us want kids. I was indifferent about marriage until I started thinking about if we decided to have kids. Besides the father not being able to take paternity leave and family care leave, what downsides are there to being an unmarried mom? In general, do men share the sentiment of not wanting to get married even when there are kids in the picture? I am starting to see many risks now especially seeing how tiring it is to be a parent. Would being unmarried mean your partner is limited in his ability to take care of the kids? And those celebrities and rappers they have kids without getting married and call them baby mama. This whole concept I can’t get it…
Having children outside of marriage is an increasingly common topic and raises many important considerations. One major concern for couples is the legal implications surrounding parental rights. In most states, unmarried fathers may have limited rights compared to married ones, which can lead to challenges in custody agreements and paternity claims. Additionally, social stigma can play a role, as traditional views on family structures can influence how unmarried parents are perceived. Many celebrities, including Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner, have opted to have children without the traditional marriage framework, prompting discussions about the evolving nature of relationships and family dynamics. For many, the decision to remain unmarried while having children may come from a desire for independence or a belief that marriage is not essential for a healthy family life. Yet, this choice comes with its own set of challenges, including discussions about co-parenting roles and responsibilities, which can be complex without a marital bond. Ultimately, it's crucial for any couple considering having children to communicate openly about their expectations and responsibilities. Exploring all perspectives, including emotional, practical, and legal aspects, can help partners arrive at a more informed decision.

marriage is essential to every persons life. no question. if you can, do it. if you’re already living together, sleeping together, living your life, just get married. if you’re ‘unsure’ then you should not be with that person. not at all
