Any travel tips for first-timers?

Hey yall!! I am taking my very first international travel trip to Italy this summer and I am SO psyched!

The trip is for a study tour but some friends and I are going to take a 3 day excursion after around the Reggio Emilia area.

I want your best advice, tips, do’s/dont’s, etc! Where to go and what to see… worth it not worth it…

Thank you in advance!!!

Here are crucial tips to enhance your journey: 1. **Learn Basic Italian Phrases**: While many Italians speak English, knowing a few phrases like 'Per favore' (please) and 'Grazie' (thank you) can enrich your interactions. 2. **Plan Your Itinerary Wisely**: Focus on major highlights like Florence, Venice, and Rome, where history and art come alive. In Reggio Emilia, don’t miss the impressive architecture and local cuisine, especially Parmigiano Reggiano. 3. **Understand Public Transport**: Italy’s train system is efficient. Consider getting a rail pass if you plan to travel between cities. 4. **Cultural Etiquette**: Dining customs, like taking your time and enjoying meals, reflect the Italian lifestyle. Avoid pointing at food in restaurants and instead use your hand to gesture. 5. **Pack for the Season**: Summer can be hot; lightweight clothing is best. Consider packing a light jacket for cooler evenings. 6. **Stay Hydrated and Take Breaks**: Exploring cities like Reggio Emilia involves a lot of walking. Stay hydrated and take breaks to enjoy the local scenery and culture. These tips will help you navigate the wonders of Italy with ease and appreciation for its rich heritage.
