I always have the fear of infertility in the back

So a little back story- I’m 24 years old and I had the joy of marrying the love of my life September ‘24. I feel as though even though we are ‘young’ we’re not THAT young. We have talked lots about having a family and recently even started discussing starting said family soon. Having a family was a conversation we had well before we ever got married because it’s a really big thing for us. I have a passion and desire to be a mother.

But before anyone says there’s plenty of time for family’s let me preface by saying I know that. But unfortunately there’s nothing I have been able to do to dampen that desire in my current place of life. I am finishing school- about to student teach in the fall and then I will have access to a full time job finally. And we have discussed starting trying to have a family after that point but I haven’t ever been able to shake the feeling that infertility might be stalking behind me ready to knock on my door the moment we start trying officially. I’ve mentioned this to a few people in my life and I’ve gotten the same response of oh it takes time and oh you’re still so young. But it’s something that since I was a little girl I’ve wanted to have. Wanted to be honored with. I know that it is all in Gods plan and timing. I trust His plan for our lives. However that unfortunately human part of me still fears.

Does anyone else have experience with this feeling? And is there anything that you were told or did that helped combat those feelings? I could really use some faith based support as since moving I don’t really have many people where I now live in my corner for support.

Thank you all in advance💛

... Read moreFear of infertility is a common concern that many women experience, especially those who have a strong desire to become mothers. While fertility often declines with age, it’s important to recognize that many factors influence fertility beyond just age alone. Conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, thyroid disorders, and lifestyle factors like stress, diet, and exercise can affect fertility at any age. For younger women worried about infertility, early consultation with a healthcare professional can provide reassurance and personalized advice. Fertility specialists can perform simple fertility assessments, such as blood hormone tests and ovarian reserve measures, to better understand individual reproductive health. This proactive approach can help alleviate some anxiety by offering clarity about one’s reproductive status. Emotional support is also critical when coping with fertility fears. Connecting with faith-based communities or support groups can provide comfort, encouragement, and shared experiences. Many women find that integrating their spiritual beliefs helps them cope with uncertainty and builds resilience during challenging times. Additionally, maintaining a healthy lifestyle can improve fertility outcomes. Balanced nutrition, regular moderate exercise, avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol, managing stress levels, and getting adequate sleep are essential. Mindfulness practices and counseling can also assist in managing anxiety related to fertility concerns. Finally, open communication between partners about hopes, fears, and expectations regarding starting a family fosters mutual support and understanding. Sharing worries allows couples to face challenges as a team and make informed decisions together. If infertility fears persist despite taking positive steps, it’s important to remember that many couples experience delays in conception but ultimately succeed in having children. Advances in reproductive medicine offer numerous treatment options when needed, including fertility medications, intrauterine insemination (IUI), and in vitro fertilization (IVF). In summary, young women grappling with the fear of infertility can benefit greatly from combining medical guidance, healthy lifestyle choices, faith-based support, and open communication to navigate this emotional journey with hope and confidence.

What I still struggle with as a Christian woman in her late 20s 🤍
Faith, grace, and the things I’m still learning to surrender. This is a soft reminder that Christianity isn’t always black and white in our personal walk with God. I’ve had to unlearn legalism, release guilt, and come back to what Scripture actually says instead of pressure or people’s opinions.

I always thought that infertility affected older women. But here I am at 22 and my husband at 24 and we are in the trenches. While we hurt the Lord comforts. His will is perfect! We can’t wait to see if we have a little one of our own naturally or by adoption. The Lord is so kind 💖 #infertility
