My new album “Icemaker” is out now
Wow, okay, I literally just finished my first full listen of SUPER JACK’s new album, 'Icemaker', and I had to jump on here to share my initial thoughts! Seriously, if you're a fan of deep, introspective music with a raw edge, you NEED to give this a listen. I feel like we’ve all been waiting for this, especially after the journey he took us on with the 'HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT' trilogy. This album feels like an entirely new strategy, a fresh chapter, yet still unmistakably SUPER JACK. From the moment the first track hits, you can tell this isn't just another release; it's an experience. The OCR snippets gave us hints, but hearing tracks like 'OVERSHARER' come to life is something else. It's got this intense, almost confessional vibe that makes you feel like you're right there with him. And then there's 'I'M STILL HERE'—that one really resonated with me. It carries such a powerful message, and the way it’s delivered, you can just feel the emotion behind every word. It's about resilience, I think, even when things feel heavy. What strikes me about 'Icemaker' is how it navigates those complex 'feelings' we all have. There are moments that touch on vulnerability, almost like excerpts from a personal journal. The lyrics we briefly saw, like "WHEN YOU THINK THAT YOU WERE WITH THEM AND YOU WISH THAT YOU WERE DEAD" or even "MAKES YOU WISH YOU WERE OVER DEAD," are explored with such artistic honesty. It’s not just about lamenting, though; there’s also a powerful undercurrent of strength, a defiance that comes through in tracks like 'WORSHIP' and 'DESTROYER.' It's like he's saying, 'yes, these dark thoughts are here, but I'm still here, and I'm going to turn them into art.' I also noticed the production quality is absolutely top-notch. Big shoutout to Tulip, Ache Pepito, and Adwanterd for their co-production work – you can hear the layers and thoughtfulness in every beat. It really elevates the whole album. Songs like 'MY TICKET' and 'IN YOUR ARMS' offer a different texture, perhaps a moment of reflection or longing amidst the intensity. It’s not all heavy; there’s a real dynamic range that keeps you engaged throughout. If you’ve been looking for music that truly makes you feel something, that isn't afraid to dive deep into the human experience, then 'Icemaker' is your next obsession. I’m already planning my next listen to catch all the nuances I missed the first time. What are your thoughts? Have you listened yet? Let me know your favorite tracks and what stands out to you!
