Techniques for children to pack toys
1. Turn it into a game.
Children prefer challenges to orders. Try these methods:
Race against time: "Let's see if before this song ends, we can put all the cars in place?"
"These cars are tired. I want to go back to bed in the box. Who's going to take them to bed?"
Classification: "Let's collect all the red stuff today and then the green?"
2. Rule "One Piece In, One Piece Out" (One In, One Out)
Make a simple agreement that if you want to dismantle a new set of toys, you have to put the original set in place to prevent the toys from spreading to the ground to look discouraging at the end.
3. Easy Access
If the collection is too complicated, children will not want to do it:
Use a basket or box to split the category: Paste a picture in front of the box (such as a wasp, doll figure) so that your child knows where to live despite not being able to read the book.
Shelves at Fit Height: Make sure the ball can pick up and drop its own stuff without recourse.
4. Appreciation of "effort" (Positive Reinforcement)
Instead of waiting until he has finished collecting, watch while he is doing:
Specifically: "You like how I try to put dolls in baskets. Look, our folk is getting wider."
Use the word "we": In the early days, say "let's collect" so that he feels that a friend is not left to do it alone.
5.Set an early warning signal (The 5-Minute Warning)
Children are often angry if they are told to stop playing immediately. Tell them beforehand:
"In five minutes, it's time to collect the toys. When the needle reaches this number, we'll start collecting." This helps him to prepare and gradually finish his play.
Tip: Lead by Example is the most important. If he sees us keeping personal items in place consistently, he will absorb that this is part of everyday life.
