Want a healthier dinner option for you or your family where you know ✨EXACTLY✨ what ingredients are in your food?
what you’ll need:
▪️ground chicken (I got a big pack from Sam’s club)
▪️eggs for binding and extra protein
▪️breadcrumbs - buy from the store or make your own! I grabbed panko for some extra crunch!
▪️seasonings of your choice! - I picked: garlic powder, onion powder and an Italian blend from Aldi!
how to:
🔹preheat your oven (or use an air fryer if you have one!) to 425°
🔹line a baking sheet with foil to make for easy cleanup
🔹mix ground chicken and eggs together (I didn’t measure - i probably used about 3/4th pound of chicken and 1 egg just for a trial run of this recipe!
🔹in a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs and seasonings to your liking
🔹scoop nugget sized spoonfuls of chicken mixture into breadcrumbs and form into nuggets - be sure to coat well!
🔹place onto foil-lined baking sheet
🔹bake for 10-12 minutes, flip nuggets over and bake for an additional 10-12 (or longer if you want a darker color on your nuggets!)
🔹enjoy!

... Read moreHomemade chicken nuggets are a fantastic alternative to store-bought options, allowing you to control the ingredients and customize flavors to suit your preferences. By using ground chicken, you can enjoy a lean protein choice that is both healthy and satisfying. The incorporation of eggs not only acts as a binding agent but boosts the protein content, making these nuggets a power-packed meal.
If you're looking to elevate the flavor, experimenting with different seasonings can lead to exciting variations. For instance, adding smoked paprika or cayenne pepper can introduce a hint of spiciness, while parsley or thyme can provide a refreshing herbal note. Furthermore, using panko breadcrumbs offers an extra crunch compared to regular breadcrumbs, enhancing the texture of the nuggets.
This recipe is also versatile; you can easily adapt it to cater to different dietary preferences—substituting ground turkey or making it gluten-free with almond flour is simple. Whether cooked in the oven or air fryer, homemade chicken nuggets remain juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauces, such as honey mustard or homemade ranch, for a delightful meal that both kids and adults can enjoy.
