This true crime story would give you the chills

On the morning of May 19, 1977, 20-year-old Colleen Stan decided to hitchhike from her home in Eugene, OR, to Northern California to attend a friend's birthday party. After traveling for most of the day, a young couple approached her in a blue van. Cameron 23, and his wife Janice, 19, asked Colleen Stan if she wanted a ride. After turning down a number of rides due to feeling unsafe, she felt comfortable riding with the couple when she saw their 8 month old baby in the back of the car. Just 30 minutes into the journey, the vehicle stopped in a remote area, and Cameron held a kn*fe to Colleen's neck. Cameron then forced a 20-pound box on her head. The box was soundproof and difficult to see out of. After arriving at their house, Cameron forced Colleen to sleep in a wooden box he constructed to keep her from escaping. Colleen was unable to lie down, so instead, she involuntarily had to sleep sitting up inside the box, bound by chains. The couple had planned to ki*nap a young woman and keep her imprisoned in their home for Cameron to have as a s*x sl@ve.

Eventually, the couple moved from their house to a mobile home, so Cameron constructed another box. Approximately the same size as a coffin, the new box allowed Colleen to sleep lying down, and the couple placed this box underneath their bed. For the first few years of captivity, Colleen stayed in the box for up to 23 hours a day, when let out Collen would often be told to clean the house or babysit their children. The couple had two young daughters, and neither of the girls realized their parents held Colleen against her will. For seven years, Colleen was assaulted physically, mentally, and s*xually.

Camereon would often claim that he was a member of a sat*nic organization called the "The Company." Colleen was told that 'The Company' was a powerful organization who watched over her and had her family's home bugged. Cameron would tell Colleen that if she ever attempted to escape, "The Company" would harm her family. After a while, Colleen earned more freedom. She was allowed to work in the garden and go for jogs. She was even allowed to visit her family; Cameron accompanied her, and she said he was her boyfriend, but her lack of communication and money made her family believe that she was in a cult. However, they didn't want to pressure her as they were scared it would cause her to disappear for good.

Towards the end of seven years in captivity, Cameron told Janice that he wanted Colleen to be his second wife, Janice Hooker didn't like this idea. To stop this from happening, Jancie confessed to to Colleen that Cameron was lying and that he wasn't a part of "The Company," and she helped her to escape. Janice then reported her husband to the police. Cameron Hooker was charged with s*xual assault and k*dnapping using a kn*fe. He was found guilty and sentenced to 104 years in prison. Janice Hooker testified against her husband and got no jail time. Colleen Stan returned home where she received extensive therapy, later married, and had a daughter. She also joined an organization committed to helping abu*ed women. #truecrime #truecrimeanimated #fyp #foryoupage #viralvideo #stories #crime #lemon8 #foryou #bodytransformation
