Book Review
This book concluded the series quite nicely. I would recommend it as an introductory read for those new to the "why choose" genre. It offered a delightful and entertaining experience without being excessive. While many "why choose" stories set in college often feature bully or enemies-to-lovers tropes, this one was simply sweet, enjoyable, and captivating. I found both the main and minor characters to be engaging. Although I personally would have appreciated a bit more intensity and suspense, it was charming nonetheless.
As someone who enjoys the "why choose" genre, I found this book to be a refreshing take on familiar themes. Many stories in this category tend to rely heavily on conflict-driven tropes like bullies or enemies turning into lovers, which can sometimes overshadow character development. This book, however, steered clear of such clichés, focusing instead on a genuinely sweet and heartfelt narrative that highlights the emotional nuances of choosing between important relationships. The characters felt very relatable, both the leads and the supporting cast. Their interactions were natural and added depth to the storytelling, making it easy to become invested in their journeys. While I personally would have liked a bit more tension or dramatic suspense to heighten the stakes, the overall charm and warmth of the writing kept me engaged from start to finish. Additionally, the subtle paranormal elements hinted by terms such as "rickstone," "Maccisity," and family dynamics added an intriguing layer to the narrative, enriching the story without overwhelming the romantic plot. This blend of romance and paranormal aspects works well to create an immersive reading experience. For readers new to this genre, this book serves as an excellent starting point. It balances entertainment and emotional connection gracefully, making it an enjoyable read without feeling overly complicated or intense. If you appreciate stories that emphasize heartfelt choices and genuine relationships over drama, this book is a perfect recommendation.
