アウトセット引き戸って、見た目がスッキリして開け閉めもしやすい反面、「鍵を付けたい」と思ったときに普通の引き戸より悩みませんか？私も寝室収納やクローゼットを片付けている途中で、家族の生活動線的に“ちょっとだけ締めたい／勝手に開けられたくない”場面が出てきて、「アウトセット引き戸 鍵」で検索しまくりました。 まず結論としては、アウトセット引き戸でも鍵の後付けは可能なことが多いです。ただし、選ぶ鍵のタイプと、扉・枠（壁）側の構造で「付く／付かない」が分かれます。 私が調べて整理したポイントは3つです。 1) 何のための鍵かを決める（防犯より“プライバシー”が多い） アウトセット引き戸は室内ドアに採用されることが多いので、目的は防犯というより「トイレ・洗面」「寝室」「書斎」「子どものいたずら防止」みたいな軽い施錠が中心になりがち。目的が“外からの侵入対策”レベルなら、鍵だけじゃなく扉自体の仕様も含めて見直しが必要です。 2) 鍵の種類：穴あけ不要か、穴あけ必要か ・穴あけ不要タイプ（簡易ロック） 両面テープや挟み込みで固定するタイプ、ストッパー系など。賃貸や「まず試したい」人に向きます。デメリットは強度が限定的で、建付けや隙間の相性でズレやすいこと。 ・穴あけ必要タイプ（本格的な鎌錠・引き戸錠など） いわゆる引き戸用の錠前。しっかり固定できて見た目もきれいですが、扉の厚みや材質、引き代（閉まったときにどれだけ重なるか）によって対応製品が変わります。戸建てでも、DIYに自信がない場合は施工してもらうのが安心です。 3) アウトセット特有の注意点（ここが落とし穴） アウトセットは扉が壁の前をスライドするので、 ・壁とのクリアランス（隙間）が小さい ・受け側（ストライク）をどこに付けるか難しい ・ハンドルや錠が出っ張ると壁や枠に干渉する …などが起きやすいです。 なので購入前に、最低限ここだけは測っておくと失敗しにくいです。 ・扉の厚み ・扉と壁（枠）の隙間 ・閉じたときの重なり量（受けを付けるスペース） ・扉内部が空洞か（穴あけ時に強度が出るか） もし「寝室のアウトセット引き戸に鍵を付けたい」みたいな用途なら、まずは穴あけ不要の簡易ロックで生活ストレスが減るか試して、良さそうなら本格的な錠に切り替える…という順番が個人的には安心でした。 最後に小さなコツなんですが、鍵を付けると“閉める習慣”が増えて、扉まわりの物（床の服とか、収納からはみ出た物）が干渉しやすくなります。私はクローゼット片付けとセットで考えたら、動線が整ってかなりラクになりました。
