"Solar" accelerates the level of Thai durian, dark control, quality-open export, 24 hours, maintain the Chinese market, push revenue through 1.5 billion.

On May 16, 2026, the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Chanthaburi Province, monitored the export situation of durian and fruit quality control measures to accelerate the upgrading of Thai durian standards in the midst of tougher competition in the global market. The government aims to push Thai durian exports this year to $150,000 million, seeing that "quality and confidence" will be the decisive factor in maintaining China, Thailand's main export market.

Today, the competition of exporting countries is measured not just in price, but in food safety standards, traceability systems, and commodity reliability.

"Thai durian is not just an agricultural product, it is an important economy that connects farmers' income, exporters, logistics and Thai food image in the global market."

The latest data Thailand has exported over 28,500 live durian chips, with a total volume of over 460,000 tons worth over 52,500 million baht, reflecting the continued demand of the international market for Thai durian.

However, the Ministry of Agriculture acknowledges that the problem of soft durian, the detection of pests, residues, including Basic Yellow 2 (BY2), remains a major risk to the confidence of partner countries, especially the increasingly stringent Chinese market.

It has ordered the Department of Agriculture to upgrade quality control measures in an intensive manner under the "4 No" policy: not soft, not worm, not wearing rights and no residue, along with 24-hour export facilitation.

Key measures include increasing cargo release support staff strength, speeding up the welding of e-Phyto and TAS-License systems to optimize traceability, reduce redundancy and reduce outpost stranded cargo problems, including upgrading residue testing laboratories based on China's recommendations.

At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture also launched a prototype "Quality Durian Garden" aimed at reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and agricultural chemicals by promoting the use of biological fertilizers, biopics and organic fertilizers to raise Thai fruits to food safety standards and green global market trends.

The Department of Agriculture is accelerating the upgrading of the entire export fruit management system, from packing plants to laboratories to digital systems, to provide Thai fruit exports with standards, transparency and speed.
