Wearing him in the baby carrier really created a monster lol
Using a baby carrier can be a fantastic way to keep your baby close and your hands free, but it can also have some surprising effects on your little one's behavior. From my experience, wearing the baby in a carrier all day can sometimes lead to an increase in their activity level—in fact, it might seem like you’re carrying around a little monster instead of your usually calm baby. This change happens because carriers allow babies to be in close contact with their caregiver’s movements and environment, which provides a lot of stimulation. While this is great for bonding and sensory development, overstimulation can sometimes lead them to be more restless or demanding. Babies pick up on your energy and movements, which can excite them and make it harder for them to settle down. To strike a balance, it’s helpful to alternate between carrying and allowing your baby time on a mat or in a safe space to explore independently. Also, notice your baby’s cues—sometimes they need a break from the closeness and may benefit from quiet time where they can calm their senses. Using the carrier strategically, such as during walks or short outings, can maximize benefits without leading to overstimulation. Remember, every baby is different. Some thrive in a carrier all day long, while others need more varied environments. Being attentive to your baby's reactions and adjusting accordingly can help turn those "monster" moments into joyful bonding experiences.
