yoga saved my life. now i get to return the favor 🙏🌙
i think about this a lot lately, how insane it is that this is my life now.
i didn’t come to a daily yoga practice because i was curious. i came because i was drowning. because my nervous system was fried and my body was holding onto things my mind couldn’t process at all. and somehow, on a mat, with my breath, i found my way back to myself. not once. over and over again. every time life cracked me open, yoga was the thing that put me back together.
and now i get to teach it. i get to hold space for other people’s healing the same way this practice held space for mine. i get to watch someone walk into a class carrying something heavy and walk out an inch lighter. that never gets old. that never stops feeling like magic.
sound therapy came into my life the same way, as medicine i needed before it became medicine i offer. there’s something about a room full of people lying still, letting frequency move through them, that reminds me how much healing doesn’t require words. sometimes the body just needs permission to let go.
i don’t take any of this for granted. not the training, not the students, not the fact that i get to wake up and do work that once saved me and now serves other people. this is the version of “making it” i actually wanted. not fame, not perfection, just being useful to people in the exact way i once needed someone to be useful to me.
if you’re in a season where everything feels like too much: your body already knows how to come back to itself. sometimes it just needs a mat, a breath, or a sound bath to remember.
... Read moreYoga is much more than just physical exercise; it's a transformative practice that deeply connects the body, mind, and soul. From personal experience, I’ve found yoga to be a sanctuary in times of emotional upheaval and physical stress. When life felt overwhelming, stepping onto the mat became a ritual of self-love and healing. Each breath I took in yoga not only grounded me but also helped restore a nervous system that was once overwhelmed and struggling.
The power of sound therapy is equally profound. I remember the first sound bath I experienced—how the gentle frequencies seemed to dissolve the tightness I held in my body without me needing to say a word. It’s almost as if these vibrations gave my body permission to release deep-set tension and trauma that my conscious mind wasn’t able to address alone. Lying still and surrendering to the sound was healing in itself, and over time, I began offering this medicine to others.
Holding space is an honor in these practices. Watching someone arrive burdened and witnessing their gradual lightness by the end of a class or session feels miraculous. It’s a privilege to guide others toward reclaiming themselves, especially in a nonjudgmental, compassionate environment. Yoga and sound therapy complement each other beautifully—yoga reconnects you to your breath and body, while sound therapy facilitates emotional and energetic release.
If you ever feel like life is too much, remember your body holds memories and wisdom that can guide you back to balance. Sometimes all it takes is a quiet moment on the mat, a mindful breath, or a sound bath to remind yourself of your resilience and inner strength. The journey to healing is ongoing, but it’s accessible to everyone willing to take those small, intentional steps.
Reflecting on this, I realize how grateful I am not just for my healing but for the opportunity to help others find their own path back to themselves. This is true success for me—not fame or perfection, but genuine usefulness and connection.
