POPEYES APPLE CRAN LEMONADE!

I picked me up a shrimp combo over the weekend and figured I’d give this new drink a try. I got it frozen. And well…so these are 3 very STRONG flavors! The think the lemonade should be sweeter it was very tart and then adding on the tartness of the cranberry and the apple tasted more like caramel apple syrup. It was a lot, I probably won’t get it again but it’s not the worse thing I’ve had. 🤷🏾‍♀️ #popeyes #cranapple #popeyeschicken #festivedrinks #holidaydrinks

... Read moreOkay, so you've seen the buzz about Popeyes' Apple Cranberry Lemonade, especially the frozen version. I get it, the name itself sounds intriguing, right? Apple, cranberry, lemonade – a festive trio. My initial thought when I saw this vibrant, layered pink and white drink in its clear cup with the Louisiana Kitchen logo was, "This looks like a holiday party in a cup!" And honestly, the visual appeal is definitely a win. But let's dive deeper than just the pretty looks. When I ordered it, I was expecting a refreshing, balanced blend of sweet and tart. Popeyes is known for its bold flavors, so I braced myself for something distinctive. The frozen consistency was perfect for a hot day, a nice thick slush that promised a slow, enjoyable sip. Now, about those flavors. The original article mentioned it was 'very tart' and had '3 very STRONG flavors.' I wholeheartedly agree! For anyone wondering about the balance, it leans heavily into the tart camp. The cranberry aspect is quite pronounced, giving it that characteristic tangy kick. Then there’s the apple. Instead of a fresh, crisp apple flavor, it reminded me more of a concentrated, almost candied apple syrup – imagine a caramel apple, but without the caramel sweetness, just the intense apple essence. This combined with the tart lemonade base really makes for a powerful taste experience. If you’re someone who usually adds extra sugar to your lemonade, this might be a wake-up call for your taste buds! I’ve heard some people absolutely love it for its unique profile, especially those who prefer drinks that aren't overly sweet. It's definitely not your average sugary soda. It’s got an adult, sophisticated tartness to it, if that makes sense. For me, personally, I found it a bit much to drink an entire large cup, but a small one might hit the spot if you're craving something intensely fruity and sour. It’s definitely a drink that sparks conversation – you either love it or you find it a bit overwhelming. So, who is this drink for? Tartness Lovers: If you live for sour candies and enjoy highly acidic beverages, this is your jam. Adventurous Drinkers: If you’re bored of the usual soft drinks and want to try something truly different from a fast-food chain, give it a shot. Seasonal Enthusiasts: It definitely has a festive, holiday vibe with the cranberry and apple, making it a fun pick-me-up during those times of the year. A little tip from my experience: If you find it too tart, you could try letting it melt a bit, or even mixing it with a splash of water or a milder soda at home if you've brought it back. I also wonder how the non-frozen version compares – perhaps the icy texture amplifies the tartness. It might be worth trying both if you’re curious. It’s a bold choice from Popeyes, for sure, and while it might not become my regular order, it was certainly an experience!
