I Tried Tormented Souls
This was a phenomenal demo.
The vibes, environment, and story telling really hit in making hate (scared hate) where I was.
The enemies I encountered and the puzzles I had to solve really felt classic Resident Evil and I loved it!
5/5 highly recommend if you're into survival horror
Having played the Tormented Souls 2 demo, I can attest that this series effectively captures the essence of 1990s survival horror games. The demo places you in the eerie Villa Hess, where the decaying environment amplifies the feeling of dread and isolation. What really stood out to me was the deeply immersive atmosphere—sound design and visual cues work together to keep you on edge. The puzzles in the demo require keen observation and classic inventory management, making every solved riddle feel rewarding. The combat system also feels deliberately slow and tense, which heightens the survival horror experience rather than detracts from it. Confronting the grotesque enemies with improvised weapons adds a layer of vulnerability that keeps you cautious throughout. Caroline Walker’s quest to save her sister from a twisted cult brings an engaging narrative focus that interacts well with the game’s exploration and puzzle mechanics. I noticed how the demo’s ability to bend reality influences both the storytelling and gameplay, creating unique moments of suspense and surprise. If you're a fan of the Resident Evil franchise or enjoy atmospheric horror games that combine exploration, puzzle-solving, and survival elements, Tormented Souls is definitely worth a try. This demo left me eagerly anticipating the full release scheduled for October 2025. The developers, Dual Effect, together with publisher PQube, seem committed to delivering a memorable continuation of this cult classic series.
