If ya spot it, ya got it!
I was confronted by God this morning. There are a few coworkers who my pride would have me call “underperformers”. They don’t work hard, they’re not always honest, they have not mastered their role. But, 1) I’m called to love them, period. 2)Instead of lamenting their behaviors with others or in my own mind, I should pray for them. 3) Examine what behaviors are present in me that cause me to see them so clearly in others.
I did that. Prayed for my enemy. What happened? I calmed down AND I examined myself. Am I working with integrity? Am I being honest with my time? Am I staying focused and mastering my own understanding? Oooooo…I have work to do! No one has it easy. Life is challenging. I have no idea what all someone else is battling in their world. I prayed to understand, be loving, and be righteous in God’s eyes. I have to release the idea that everyone is getting away with something and realize instead why that would bother me? Is it because I want to get away with doing as little as possible too? What an ugly mindset! It’s time to challenge myself and see the grace I have been extended and hold gratitude today that I am employed, valued, and working from the comfort of my own home. I have too much to be thankful for to spend time examining others through jealous eyes of my flesh. I want to be a person who uplifts others with what I think and say. That is what I will pursue.

In our daily lives, confronting challenges and negativity can often lead us to overlook the grace and blessings surrounding us. It's essential to remember that everyone is fighting their battles, which calls for compassion and understanding. Engaging in self-reflection not only enhances our personal growth but also impacts our interactions with others. Embracing vulnerability allows us to connect more deeply, fostering communities of encouragement and support. By shifting our perspective, we can cultivate an environment where uplifting each other becomes a priority. This process includes acknowledging our shortcomings while striving to improve ourselves consistently. Acknowledging the flaws in others often mirrors our insecurities, revealing areas in our own lives that require attention. Therefore, it is vital to approach these situations with love and gratitude, promoting positive change rather than harboring resentment. Reflecting on our values encourages a more profound appreciation for the roles we play at work and in our communities. Let's aim to 'be better,' not just for ourselves, but for everyone around us, reinforcing the notion that by uplifting others, we ultimately uplift ourselves.
