Chicago Must See
This day was jammed packed so we had to make the most of our time and stick to a schedule.
Millennium Park is where you’ll find lush gardens, public art and the famous Cloud Gate (yes, “The Bean”!) It’s one of those places that captures the heart of the city in a single stop.
The architecture boat tour along the Chicago River is an absolute must! Seeing Chicago’s skyline from the water is a completely different experience. You’ll leave with a whole new appreciation for why Chicago is considered the birthplace of the modern skyscraper.
Overall experience, 10/10

When visiting Chicago, allocating your time effectively is crucial, especially if your itinerary is as packed as mine was. Millennium Park truly stands out—not just for the famous Cloud Gate sculpture, affectionately known as "The Bean," but also for its beautifully maintained gardens and inspiring public art installations that represent the heart and soul of the city. What really elevated my trip was hopping on the architecture boat tour along the Chicago River. Experiencing Chicago’s skyline from the water offers a fresh perspective that’s hard to find elsewhere. You sail past historic skyscrapers, learning about the innovative architects who placed Chicago on the map as the birthplace of the modern skyscraper. The boat guides share fascinating stories you won’t hear from a bus or walking tour, making it one of the most enriching ways to soak in the city’s architectural legacy. Additionally, the energy and vibe along the riverfront are fantastic. Even if you have only a day to explore, combining Millennium Park with the architecture boat tour maximizes your Chicago experience and gives a deep appreciation for its urban design and cultural landmarks. If you have extra time, consider strolls through nearby neighborhoods for local eats or a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago, a short walk from the park. From personal experience, I’d rate this combo a perfect 10/10 for any first-time visitor or architecture lover. Planning ahead and booking the boat tour in advance can save waiting time, especially during peak travel seasons. This day-long adventure not only covers must-see spots but leaves you with memorable stories and impressive photos. Chicago’s charm is undeniable once you explore it this way!
