Michelin places in chiangmaiš„°
I've prepared in advance the Michelin - recommended restaurants in Chiang Mai for 2025. The 20 places I'm planning to visit this time aren't Michelin - starred or selected restaurants. They are the authentic local eateries and street stalls that offer great value for money, the more laid - back and down - to - earth Bib Gourmand placesš.
š Most of the 20 places are quite close within the city. You'll need to drive out of the city for the last three.
š I can't fit all the addresses here, so I've put them below.
šŗ At the end, there's a collection of the Michelin - recommended places in Bangkok that I sorted out before. You can directly copy them to your Google Maps appš².

My recent trip to Chiang Mai was a complete culinary revelation, all thanks to the incredible Michelin Bib Gourmand selection! Forget the fancy, overpriced restaurants; this guide is all about diving deep into the heart of Thai cuisine, finding those authentic, value-for-money gems that locals adore. I'm talking about places where every dish tells a story, and your taste buds go on an unforgettable journey. Let's start with a true legend: Dan Chicken Rice (Dan Chicken Rice Chiang Mai). Anyone searching for the perfect Hainanese chicken rice must visit this spot. The chicken is incredibly tender, perfectly poached, and the rice, cooked in chicken broth, is fragrant and flavorful. It's simple, yet profoundly satisfying, especially with their signature dipping sauces. I remember seeing their Michelin Guide Selection 2022 sign, and itās clear why theyāre consistently recognized. Itās a must-try for breakfast or lunch, as they close early. Next up, if you're craving a taste of refined Thai flavors, Sanae Thai Cuisine Chiang Mai is a fantastic choice. The menu here is a delightful exploration of traditional Thai dishes, served with a touch of elegance but still retaining that comforting homestyle feel. I particularly enjoyed their rich soups ā one with a large bone, as seen in some snaps, was just heavenly ā and their vibrant salads. Itās a great place to experience the breadth of Thai cooking beyond the usual Pad Thai. Speaking of unique experiences, Saiyut & Doctor Sai kitchen stood out for its incredibly artful presentation and diverse menu. From their beautifully arranged appetizers to a perfectly executed Pad Thai with succulent shrimp, every dish felt like a work of art. Itās clear they put immense care into their cooking, offering a slightly different take on traditional Thai fare thatās both delicious and visually stunning. This place is perfect if youāre looking to impress your palate with something a little out of the ordinary. Beyond these specific highlights, the beauty of the Bib Gourmand Chiang Mai list lies in its celebration of authentic local eats. For instance, Khao Soi Mae Sai is an absolute icon for anyone seeking the quintessential Northern Thai noodle dish, Khao Soi. The rich, creamy curry broth with crispy and soft noodles is simply divine. Another personal favorite was Sanpakoi Kanomjeen, offering a variety of traditional rice noodle dishes that are fresh, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying, perfect for a light yet fulfilling meal. And don't even get me started on the street food! I discovered Lung Khajohn Wat Ket for their amazing steamed rice skin dumplings, a true local delicacy. For something truly unique, Go Neng serves up these fantastic dragon-shaped fried dough sticks, or patongko, that are perfect for a quick snack. And if you're looking for vibrant, healthy, and delicious options, Meena Rice Based Cuisine (as the name suggests!) offers colorful rice dishes that are as beautiful as they are tasty. Navigating these spots can be an adventure in itself. Many are bustling local institutions with specific operating hours, so always check before you go. Most are conveniently located within the city, making them accessible by scooter or Grab. Embracing the Bib Gourmand list means embracing the true culinary spirit of Chiang Mai ā delicious food, incredible value, and unforgettable memories.
