✨ How I Spend My Free Time as an Adult ✨

Hey Lemon8! Let’s spill the tea on what adulting really looks like ☕️😆

Adulting for me is not only work, but also learning, enjoying, and finding balance 🌼 Here’s my mix of habits, lazy moments & tips:

👩‍🏫Tutoring

I teach computer classes . It feels good to share ur knowledge with others

👉 Tip: Find a volunteering activity you enjoy. Even 1–2 hours a week makes a big difference.

💸 Mini Money Audit

Every week I review where my money went—sometimes food takes the biggest part 🤭 but at least I know where it’s going.

👉 Tip: Don’t overcomplicate—just track your top 3 spending categories (food, transport, shopping).

🧹 Organizing Life

When I’m in the mood, I clean my room, delete photos, or sort emails. It’s like a small audit at home.

👉 Tip: Set a 10-min timer. You’ll be surprised how much you can tidy without stress.

🏃‍♀️ Exercising (and Being Lazy)

Some days I jog, stretch, or follow a YouTube workout. Other days, I just want to do nothing—and that’s okay too.

👉 Tip: Aim for movement, not perfection. Even walking to buy food counts.

🍜 Hanging Out for Food

One of my happy moments is exploring new places to eat with friends. Food = connection + happiness for me.

👉 Tip: If you eat out a lot, balance with simple home-cooked meals on other days.

📖 Learning New Things

I’m already learning Korean & German, and it’s been such a fun journey!

👉 Tip: Each week, note 1 new word or phrase you’ve learned—it’s a mini growth tracker.

📕 Reading Time

I’m already diving into new books, and each page brings fresh ideas!

👉 Tip: Write down 1 key insight or favorite quote from your reading each week—it’s like a mini wisdom tracker.

🌱 Reflection Time

At the end of the week, I ask myself: what went well, and what do I need to improve? This keeps me grounded.

👉 Tip: Write down 1 “win” & 1 “lesson” in your notes app weekly—it’s like a life audit.

🛋️ Lazy Moments

Not gonna lie—sometimes I just scroll TikTok, nap, or watch random videos. Adulting isn’t always productive, and that’s normal.

👉 Tip: Rest without guilt. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

✨ “Adulting isn’t about perfection — it’s about showing up for yourself, growing a little each day, and making space for joy.”✨

... Read moreOne thing I've learned is that free time as an adult is precious and should be embraced without guilt. While it's great to stay productive, sometimes the best thing you can do is simply rest and recharge. Scheduling in lazy moments like napping or watching lighthearted videos allows me to reset and approach challenges with fresh energy. I've also found that keeping a simple weekly reflection helps me stay grounded. Noting one win and one lesson keeps adulting less overwhelming and encourages continuous growth. Plus, involving activities like mini money audits and organizing life tasks into short, manageable bursts has made my routines sustainable. Exploring interests like learning Korean and German adds a fun challenge to my downtime and keeps my mind active. Sharing meals and trying new places to eat enriches my social life and brings joy during free time. If you’re looking for balance, I'd suggest combining small moments of productivity with genuine rest—both are essential to thriving as an adult. Lastly, using reminders such as timers for tidying or jotting down new words and insights helps me track small progress, making adult life feel a bit more rewarding. Remember, adulting isn’t about perfection but about showing up for yourself and finding happiness in everyday moments.

What I spend in a week as an unemployed 34YO
Hey SGFC Fam! Happy Monday y’all! One question I get asked a lot is: “Do you still track your expenses?” I do, but loosely. What that means is I know roughly where my money goes, but if I can’t account for a couple of dollars, I don’t sweat it. I typically give myself an “allowance” of $1,

As women, we often take care of everyone else first.. Kids, family, work… and forget to care for ourselves. I gave myself permission to pause. My very first massage in Singapore 🇸🇬 and it reminded me how important it is to recharge. Now, I could actually enjoy this massage in the middle of

My guilt-free funemployment 🤭
A short while ago, I left my job in pursuit of a much needed corporate detox after close to a decade of grinding. The number one question that keeps coming up: how do you survive without an income? First, planning — about a few years ago I had already started planning for some sort of a gap year
