Don’t bully me because this is the first gift I’ve ever given to my boyfriend’s mother 🤣🤣. Yes… only at 29 I start meeting a partner’s family, having gatherings, and bonding with them. Everything is quite different from how my family usually does things, but honestly I’m learning a lot about interracial relationships and I actually find it fun.

During CNY I even visited his aunt’s house and the happiest moment was… getting angpao 🤣 I was like okay this is quite cool. I really enjoy spending time with them and learning their culture.

Anyway, back to the topic: gift idea for his mother.

I overthink a lot because she also gave me angpao on my birthday, so I wanted to give something small but meaningful.

After thinking for so long… I decided to give her a lipstick from **Dior — the Dior Rouge Coco Bloom 💄

Honestly I was a bit nervous giving it because I didn’t know if she would like it… but seeing her smile made me feel relieved.

Sometimes when you date someone from a different culture, there are many small things to learn. But I think the effort to understand each other’s family is what makes the journey interesting.
