honest perfume review 💖✨
hey everyone! this is a review of my perfume collection and my honest opinions
⭐️Coco Mademoiselle 10/10
I typically hate the smell of Chanel perfume but the moment I smelled this I was in love. it lasts literally all day with three sprays and when I rewear a jacket, I can seriously still smell it. I have the smaller one which was about $100 from Sephora, but the normal size is $120. I do not know how to describe the scent but it is 100% worth a try.
⭐️Paris Intenssément: 10/10
This was my first expensive perfume and I am still in love. it is a very rosy, sweet, floral scent and I had an acquaintance grab my arm to smell my wrist when I wore this because they loved it so much. It is from YSL.
⭐️Good Girl Red: 9/10
As you can tell, I love sweet, floral scents and this went viral for a reason. I think this specific bottle is Very Good Girl, but I'll call it the red one. it is not my favorite perfume but absolutely deserves a high ranking and a buy.
⭐️Tous: 8/10
Again, I don't know how to describe the scent profile in this perfume. This one and Chanel are more "chemically" but in a good way. I have always hated perfume that wasn't a sweet, natural scent, but this one is amazing. there are sweet tones in the scent and i bought it as soon as i smelled it. $20 on Amazon.
⭐️Pure Wonder: 5/10
this was a gift from Bath & body works when they had their actual perfume collection. personally, I am not a fan of the scent because it has that chemical smell, but there are so many people who love it and I think it just depends on your taste. it does last a while so the low rating is because of personal sent preference.
Building a perfume collection is such a personal journey, and I love sharing my discoveries! Beyond just listing favorites, I’ve learned a lot about what makes a fragrance truly special for *me*. If you're looking to dive deeper into the world of scents, here are some insights and tips I've picked up along the way, especially when exploring both classic luxury brands and those hidden gems. First, let's talk about understanding scent profiles. When I first started, like with my Chanel Coco Mademoiselle or Paris Intensément, I just knew I loved ‘sweet’ and ‘floral.’ But there’s so much more! Fragrances are often categorized into families: Florals: Think rose, jasmine, tuberose. My Paris Intensément is a perfect example of a beautiful, rich floral. Orientals: Warm, spicy, often with vanilla, amber, or musk. Woody: Earthy, often with notes like sandalwood or cedar. Fresh: Citrusy, green, or aquatic. Chypre: A classic family, often featuring bergamot, oakmoss, and patchouli, like Coco Mademoiselle which has a modern chypre floral twist. Learning these can help you articulate what you like and find similar scents. Don't be afraid to ask for specific notes when you're testing perfumes! Next, the aesthetic appeal of a perfume bottle is a huge part of the experience, isn't it? I totally get the 'perfume unboxing aesthetic' trend! The bottle itself is a piece of art. Take the Good Girl Red bottle, for instance – its unique shoe shape ("perfume bentuk kasut") immediately catches the eye and makes it a statement piece on any vanity. Brands like Chanel and YSL, even with their more traditional designs, exude classic luxury. The presentation, from the packaging to the cap, really adds to the overall joy of owning and using a scent. It's not just about how it smells, but how it makes you feel to hold it. When it comes to finding your next signature scent, don't just stick to what's popular. While viral hits like Very Good Girl are amazing, there's a whole world of niche and collection fragrance brands out there! The 'pros' of exploring niche brands are often their unique, uncommon scents that aren't mass-produced, offering something truly distinctive. The 'cons' can be higher price points and less accessibility. On the flip side, popular brands are easy to find and often have broad appeal. My Tous perfume, which I found for a great price on Amazon, proves that you can find amazing scents without breaking the bank, even if it's not a super well-known 'niche' brand. Even my Bath & Body Works Pure Wonder, despite not being my personal favorite, is loved by many and shows that good quality can be found at all price points. My top tip for discovering new fragrances? Try samples! Many online retailers or even department stores offer sample sizes. This lets you live with a scent for a few days, see how it develops on your skin, and check its longevity before committing to a full bottle. It's the best way to find out if a scent truly resonates with you and lasts as long as you'd like. Remember, what smells amazing on a test strip might not be the same on your skin, so always try before you buy!
