Fort Worth Zoo Trip 🦒

Oh my goodness, you guys! If you're planning a trip to Texas, the Fort Worth Zoo is an absolute MUST-VISIT. I just got back from my latest adventure there, and I'm still buzzing from all the incredible sights. First things first, let's talk about the giraffes. Seriously, seeing them up close in the African Savanna habitat is truly magical. I was lucky enough to catch one of their feeding times, and it was such an unforgettable experience. Watching those gentle giants extend their long necks to reach the hay from the elevated dispensers is just mesmerizing. The sheer size and grace of these animals, especially the babies, will totally capture your heart. I absolutely adored the vibrant pink flamingos. Their enclosure is so beautifully designed, creating a serene environment where you can watch them preening and wading in the green water. They're such elegant birds, and their bright color really pops. And speaking of incredible animals, I also got to see the majestic rhinoceros enjoying its sandy habitat near some impressive rock formations. It's amazing how powerful yet peaceful they seem. The primate exhibits were fantastic too; I saw some amazing gorillas or chimpanzees (hard to tell from a distance!) skillfully navigating their multi-level wooden climbing structures. It's fascinating to watch their antics! And don't even get me started on the adorable prairie dogs standing guard by their burrows – they're endlessly entertaining. For those wondering about food, the Fort Worth Zoo has plenty of options, from quick bites to more substantial meals. You can find everything from burgers and fries to healthier choices. I usually pack some snacks, but it’s great to know there are good spots for lunch. And if you're like me and love all things aquatic, don't miss the Museum of Living Art (MOLA), which houses an impressive collection of amphibians, reptiles, and fish – it's practically an aquarium within the zoo, with some really unique species! My top tip for visiting? Go early in the morning to beat the crowds and the heat, especially during summer. Wear comfy shoes because you'll be doing a lot of walking, and bring a water bottle – there are plenty of refill stations.
