I find it interesting that for an app that is developed or owned by the same developers/owners of tiktok….the algorithm on Lemon8 is kinda trash.
Every time I get on here, my FYP is showing me something different (topic wise) and it’s usually posts from 6+ months ago. Even when I search for things, the posts are from April and the creator no longer posts
Do y’all feel like the algorithm is learning your patterns and behavior on here?
Yeah I get it, this isn’t those other apps. BUT I should be seeing more of the stuff that I like and search for…otherwise, what’s the point?
Maybe I just haven’t been here long enough?
Or maybe it’s their strategy to get us to stay here and keep searching until we find what we find? Bad strategy lol

This can lead to disappointment when users see older posts or find that their FYP does not align with their interests. Many wonder if the algorithm truly learns from user interactions or if it simply promotes older content, making it difficult to engage effectively with the platform. Furthermore, users are curious about the strategies Lemon8 employs to retain their attention. Some speculate whether the platform encourages prolonged searching in order to discover desired content as part of its growth strategy.
To optimize user experience on platforms like Lemon8, developers may consider revising their algorithms to be more adaptive. Features such as real-time content updates, better categorization of user interests, and leveraging data analytics to refine recommendations could significantly improve the overall functionality of the platform. Additionally, gathering user feedback could play a crucial role in continuously improving algorithm effectiveness. As users continue to engage, they expect a more personalized and timely feed that aligns with their interactions, ultimately enhancing their experience on the app.
What I find more frustrating is:
1/ not good content- everyone is not good at thrifting, what’s the purpose of displaying meals & not sharing recipes, & stop asking people how to be more pretty
2/ evidently everyone is under the age of 25
3/don’t be a trend wagon jumper
Be your authentic self!!
What I’ve found weird is me posting stuff I purchased does better than literally anything else, which totally isn’t going to endorse overconsumption or anything- sarcasm :’(
