My christmas wishlist as a healthcare girly 🎄🎅🏼✝️
Here's what would be on myy list as a girl in healthcare!
1. A good tote bag. I am literally carrying half of my belongings at all times. Water bottle, energy drinks, lunch, a change of clothes for after work, my medical equipment, gym stuff, and literally all the other random things that end up in a bag lol
2. Oura ring. I freakin love my oura ring. Healthcare can be one of those jobs that makes it hard to balance rest and movement, but oura has really helped me find what works for me.
3. Owala... NEED. Especially because the straw is covered and I can literally carry it with one finger
4. Scrubs. I love my figs. Enough said.
5. Compression socks. Bombas are my personal fave. Must haves for long days of standing, especially the OR. Can't have those varicose veins too young.
6. Rothy's. Literally my go to pair of shoes. I can dress them up for business causal clinic days, or dress them down for the days I'm in scrubs.
7. A planner. HARDCOPY PLANNERS ARE SO SLEPT ON
8. Pance Prep Pearls. This has been a life saver for quickly reviewing medical topics. Not everything I need to know by any means, but certainly a decent reference.
9. iPad. For notes, for youtube, for movies (sue me), for researching on the fly. Very multifaceted.
10. iPad paper screen protector. I have this for my phone and iPad. I love the way it feels on my fingers (no smudges) and with my apple pencil. My life would be worse without this little piece of magic.
As anyone in healthcare knows, a well-thought-out Christmas wishlist can make a world of difference in managing the demanding nature of this field. Starting with a good tote bag is a must—brands like lululemon and Free People offer durable, stylish totes perfect for carrying all essentials, from medical equipment to gym kits. The Oura Ring, mentioned in the wishlist, has gained popularity among healthcare workers for its ability to monitor rest and activity, helping to strike a balance between hectic schedules and personal health. Hydration is crucial during long shifts, which makes the Owala water bottle—with its covered straw and easy one-finger carry—a practical choice to stay refreshed throughout the day. When it comes to uniforms, FIGS scrubs stand out for combining comfort, style, and functionality, a trio that every healthcare professional appreciates. Compression socks, especially Bombas, are more than just a comfort item; they help prevent varicose veins and support leg health after hours of standing, especially in operating rooms. On the footwear front, Rothy's casual clogs offer versatility and comfort, suitable for both clinical and casual settings. Hardcopy planners, often underrated in the digital age, provide a tactile and organized way to keep track of shifts, appointments, and personal goals. For studying and professional growth, Pance Prep Pearls serves as an essential quick-reference resource to reinforce medical knowledge on the go. Tech gadgets like the iPad paired with a paperlike screen protector enhance productivity and reduce eye strain, making note-taking, researching, and even relaxation during breaks more enjoyable. Altogether, this thoughtfully curated wishlist addresses both the practical and personal needs of healthcare girls, ensuring they are equipped and motivated to excel in their careers while maintaining balance and well-being.
