From the excitement of welcoming preschoolers to navigating the challenges of fluency with elementary students, my role is dynamic and fulfilling. The day begins early, typically around 7:30 am. My first task is to prepare for the day's activities, which often includes assessing which students will be in attendance. For instance, some children may be absent, creating opportunities to catch up on paperwork or plan for future Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Lunch breaks are brief but essential. With a tight schedule, I often find myself enjoying a quick meal at home before diving back into another round of sessions. The key is multitasking – I document each session while brainstorming strategies for upcoming days, ensuring that I provide the best support for my students. Additionally, I always look forward to my interactions, especially with children struggling to express themselves. Through creative activities and play, I facilitate enjoyable learning experiences that make a meaningful impact. Overall, my day wraps up around 4:00 pm, leaving me with a sense of accomplishment in the rewarding field of speech therapy.
