Week of Workouts !! 🏃🏼♀️🧘🏼♀️
another week done! #foryoupage #universityofminnesota #minnesota #halfmarathon #training @Life Time @CRZ YOGA @Runna @Strava @Owala
Training for a half marathon while balancing different types of workouts has been a rewarding experience. My week consisted of a mix of cardio tempo runs, sculpt classes to build strength, and yoga for flexibility and recovery. On tempo Tuesday, despite my legs feeling heavy, focusing on consistent pacing helped me push through my 3.5-mile run effectively. Incorporating sculpt classes on Tuesday and Saturday offered a solid strength foundation, which I found essential for improving running endurance and preventing injuries. Wednesday’s yoga class was a great midweek reset; it helped calm my mind and loosen up tight muscles, which is crucial when training intensifies. I appreciated how yoga complements running by improving breathing techniques and body awareness. One thing I realized during my training is the value of variety. Mixing running with strength and flexibility routines kept my week interesting and helped avoid burnout. The heart rate data during my runs and classes showed a balanced workout intensity, optimizing both aerobic capacity and recovery. For those preparing for a half marathon or any endurance event, adding cross-training sessions like sculpt or yoga can enhance performance and enjoyment. Plus, staying consistent and listening to your body, especially on tough days like my Tempo Tuesday, is key to progress. Overall, this varied routine keeps me motivated and physically prepared for race day.
