GRWM: let’s talk about my content journey

Get ready with me while I share a bit about my content journey 💻📱

I started filming videos way before I ever thought about doing content seriously, just for fun. Then in 2023, my friend texted me, “Did you know you can get paid for this?” and everything changed. Since then, I’ve been filming brand deals, sending videos to brands, and creating nonstop.

I only got to this point because I stayed consistent and kept working hard, even when it wasn’t easy. If you have a dream, remember: results come from showing up again and again. You’ve got this 🤍✨

... Read moreMy journey into content creation, much like many of yours, started with a simple desire to share. What began as filming fun GRWMs in my room quickly evolved when I realized the incredible potential to turn passion into profit. If you're scrolling through Lemon8, dreaming of becoming a paid creator, let me share a few more insights from my experience on how you can make that leap too! First off, the "getting paid" part might seem daunting, but it's totally achievable. For me, it primarily came through brand deals. How do you get them? It's not always about having millions of followers. Brands are increasingly looking for engaged communities, even smaller ones. Start by building a portfolio of high-quality content. Even if you're not getting paid yet, create content as if you are! Showcase your unique style, your editing skills, and how you genuinely use products. When I first began reaching out, I compiled my best GRWM videos and lifestyle posts into a simple media kit outlining my audience demographics and engagement rates. Don't be afraid to pitch! Many small businesses and even larger brands have creator programs. Beyond direct brand deals, there are other avenues. Affiliate marketing is a fantastic way to earn passive income by linking products you genuinely love and use in your GRWMs. When someone buys through your link, you earn a commission. Another growing area is User Generated Content (UGC) creation, where brands pay you just to create content for their channels, without necessarily posting it on your own. This is a great way to start earning and build your experience without the pressure of your own audience growth. The original post mentioned consistency, and I can't stress this enough. There were so many times I felt like giving up, especially when videos didn't perform well or when it felt like endless work with little reward. But showing up, even when it's hard, is truly what makes the difference. Plan your content. Even a rough outline of your GRWM routine for the week can help. Think about different makeup looks, outfit choices, or topics you want to chat about while getting ready. This helps combat creator's block and keeps your audience engaged. Authenticity is your superpower, especially in GRWM content. People connect with realness. Don't feel pressured to always have the latest, most expensive products. Share what you genuinely use, your morning struggles, your outfit dilemmas. My audience loves when I share my honest thoughts, even if it's just about choosing between two shades of lipstick or how I'm feeling that day. That personal touch makes your content relatable and builds a loyal community. Remember, your unique voice is what sets you apart. Keep showing up, keep sharing your authentic self, and your content journey will flourish. You've got this, fellow creator!
