What I've Learned So Far 🥰
Hello! My name is LaNina, and I am going to share 5 things that I have noticed about myself since I have embarked on my journey for growth.
Number 1: I get uncomfortable when my routine is interrupted. - I wouldn't say that I have a perfect or even a good routine, but I am very used to coming home, feeding my cats, cleaning, and then taking my medicine and going to sleep. (I’m trying to be more of a morning person, but we are working up to that.) However, I have noticed that when that routine is slightly interrupted, I feel this tingling in my back and start to panic. This is something I am working on now!
Number 2: I am more aware of How I feel and what causes those feelings. - I was very much someone who would never be able to describe how I feel or put a name to it. I could only ever identify WHERE I felt the emotion. I still can’t always name the emotion, but I will write down emotions that sorta describe how I’m feeling and will bring it up with my psychiatrist! I also write down what happened when I started feeling that emotion.
Number 3: I value my solitude. - I LOVE being alone. I used to be someone who craved attention from all sorts of people, especially from men who didn’t value me at all. I have been spending so much time alone now that communicating with anyone that isn’t my best friends or co-workers, or people who make me feel special feels like a chore. I think my intuition is helping me from wasting my time with certain people.
Number 4: I pay more attention to my character. - I know it is important to not care about what others think of me; however, I have found myself re-assessing who I am and who I want to be… and I have realized that I just want to be good. Obviously I will not be putting effort into people who do not deserve my time, but I will indeed be as good as I can be until I am shown why I cannot be anymore.
Number 5: I want to start living for me.- I have spent my life walking on eggshells about the person I want to be, the people I would upset along the way, robbing myself of opportunities I deserve to experience. Out of fear of judgement, I never took risks to maintain peace in my life. Not anymore. I am living for me because it is what I deserve.
Tell me some things you have experienced while growing! This is a safe space, and there will be no judgment from me whatsoever! I cannot speak for others though. <3
Personal growth is a continuous journey that requires self-awareness, reflection, and intentional change. The author shares five important lessons learned so far, highlighting challenges and breakthroughs experienced along the way. One critical insight is how discomfort from routine interruptions can trigger physical and emotional responses such as panic. This phenomenon is common and relates to our brain’s craving for predictability and safety. Mindfulness practices and gradual exposure to change can help ease this discomfort over time, fostering greater resilience. Developing emotional awareness plays a vital role in personal growth. Many struggle to identify or name their feelings. Writing down emotions and their triggers, as the author does, is an effective technique that enhances emotional intelligence and supports mental health discussions with professionals. This practice can help individuals respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. Valuing solitude is another key lesson. Solitude allows for introspection and self-connection, providing space away from social demands. The author’s experience of shifting from craving external validation to preferring meaningful interactions is a common evolution in mature emotional development. Trusting intuition to guide relationships helps conserve energy and fosters healthier social connections. Paying attention to one’s character reflects a commitment to integrity and personal standards. The decision to 'be good' and invest in deserving relationships emphasizes healthy boundaries and self-respect. This approach encourages ongoing self-assessment and encourages growth aligned with core values. Finally, the determination to start living for oneself represents a powerful shift from fear-driven decisions to authenticity. Overcoming the fear of judgment and taking risks for self-fulfillment are essential for realizing one’s potential and happiness. These lessons resonate universally and offer practical insights for anyone on a self-growth path. Embracing change, fostering emotional literacy, appreciating solitude, nurturing character, and prioritizing authentic living collectively support a balanced and fulfilling life journey.
