Time Is Precious
When he was young, he thought money was the cheat code.
He chased bigger paychecks, worked longer hours, and postponed everything else. Family dinners became "maybe next week." Vacations became "someday." Dreams became "when things settle down."
Years passed.
His bank account grew. His house got bigger. His watch became more expensive. Yet somehow, his days felt shorter.
Then one afternoon, he sat in a hospital room watching the clock tick above the door. The doctor had just explained that his father didn't have much time left.
For the first time in his life, money felt small.
He would have traded every promotion for one more fishing trip. Every bonus for one more conversation. Every dollar for a few more ordinary moments he had once considered abundant.
That was when he finally understood.
Time had been the cheat code all along.
Not because it made life easier, but because it was the one thing everyone received for free and could never buy back once it was gone.
Most people spend their lives protecting their money.
The wise spend their lives protecting their time.
Because money lost can be earned again.
Time lost becomes a memory.
And eventually, even memories run out.
