No One Wants to Listen Anymore
It’s sad that so few people actually want to have real conversations anymore. Everyone wants to be heard, but not everyone wants to listen.
The moment you see something from a different perspective, it often turns into name calling, labeling, or insults, all of which just deepen the division we already feel so strongly in our world.
From my personal perspective, I’m okay with people having different opinions. In fact, I welcome it. We all come from different walks of life, experiences, and backgrounds that shape the way we see things. That’s normal. That’s human.
But what’s disheartening is how quickly assumptions take over when genuine listening could clear so much up. It’s like many don’t care to understand, they just want to be right.
I believe conversations should be about understanding, not winning. Listening doesn’t mean agreeing; it means valuing another person’s voice enough to pause, reflect, and maybe see something in a new way.
If more of us could step back and really hear one another, I think we’d realize that most people aren’t our enemies, they’re just coming from a different place.
