Moments of Discouragement
She trusted God more than her circumstances.
If I'm being transparent, that has been challenging lately.
Recently, I've walked through some unexpected situations that completely caught me off guard. Moments that left me wondering, "Lord, how do I fix this?" As I've been building my life and business, those experiences have been a distraction.
They've drained my creativity, discouraged my heart, and at times made it difficult to keep moving forward.
I've had conversations with friends who genuinely meant well, but some of their words unintentionally cracked the foundation of my faith instead of strengthening it. It forced me to take an honest look at myself.
I realized I had slowly begun making decisions from a place of fear instead of faith. From doubt instead of trust.
I became so focused on what I lacked, what I couldn't control, and what wasn't working that I started losing sight of the One who already holds every piece of my situation in His hands.
Maybe you've been there too. Maybe you've spent more time staring at the mountain than looking to the God who can move it.
Today, I'm choosing to shift my focus.
Not because all of my circumstances have changed. But because God has not changed.
His character is still faithful. His promises are still true. His timing is still perfect. And His plans for my life have not been canceled because I'm walking through a difficult season.
If you're carrying something heavy today, I want to encourage you, and honestly, remind myself, that our circumstances may speak loudly, but they never have the final word. God does.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5–6
Facing moments of discouragement can be one of the toughest parts of life's journey, especially when unexpected challenges threaten to derail our goals and spirit. From personal experience, I’ve found that the key to navigating these moments lies in intentionally redirecting my focus—not on what’s going wrong, but on the steadfast nature of God’s character. When discouragement creeps in, it’s easy to fixate on our fears and what’s out of our control. I’ve been there, allowing doubts to overshadow the faith that once moved me forward. But what helped me regain strength was remembering that our circumstances are temporary and do not define the outcome. The truth that "She trusted God more than her circumstances" isn’t just a comforting phrase—it’s a powerful mindset that transforms how we handle setbacks. In practical terms, this means regularly turning to scripture and prayer to reinforce trust. Proverbs 3:5–6—"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding..."—became a daily anchor for me. It reminded me that faith isn’t the absence of problems but the confidence in God’s promises despite them. I've also learned that the company we keep influences our spiritual resilience. While friends may mean well, sometimes their words can unintentionally plant doubt. Being selective with whom we share our struggles and seeking those who can encourage faith-filled perspectives is crucial. Lastly, embracing the fact that God’s plans are not canceled in difficult seasons helped me persevere. Even when creativity and motivation felt drained, this belief kept me moving forward step by step. To anyone feeling weighed down today, I encourage you to trust that your current challenges don’t have the final word—God does. Shifting your focus to His unwavering presence can renew your hope and inspire perseverance through any trial.
