Pain Does Not Get To Control My Future!

For too long, I sat in my pain of heartbreak.

That pain became like a second skin, and something I wore every day without even realizing it. I was angry and bitter. I replayed the hurt, the disappointments, and the people/person who wounded me over and over again.

I allowed my experiences to shape how I saw myself, others, and even God at times. But as I began to mature in my walk with Christ, something changed.

Instead of constantly asking, "Why did this happen to me?" I began asking, "Lord, what are You trying to teach me through this? How can You use this for Your glory?" That shift changed everything.

There is such a freeing moment when the pain no longer has a grip on your heart. When the hurt, the anger, and the bitterness lose their power. When you're no longer emotionally controlled by the people who hurt you or the experiences that tried to break you.

The pain may always be part of your story, but it no longer gets to write your future. Today, I can honestly say I'm grateful that God didn't waste my brokenness. He used it to refine me, humble me, strengthen my faith, and shape me into the woman I'm becoming.

Healing isn't pretending the pain never happened. Healing is recognizing that what once wounded you no longer has the power to define and control how you operate because Christ has rewritten your story.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

Friend, if you're still carrying pain today, don't give up. I know the weight of what you carry is crushing. But keep walking with Jesus. There is freedom on the other side of surrender.

... Read moreLiving through heartbreak is an experience many of us can relate to, and for a long time, it felt like the pain controlled my every thought and action. I remember the days when bitterness and anger seemed to envelop me like a second skin, shaping how I viewed myself and the world around me. Yet, I didn’t realize until much later how much these feelings were holding me back from truly living. What genuinely helped me was changing the way I talked to myself and God about my pain. Instead of continuously asking "Why me?" I began to reflect on what lessons could be learned and how my struggles might serve a greater purpose. This simple shift in mindset took time but was incredibly freeing. It allowed me to see past the hurt and bitterness, and it gradually softened the grip pain had on my heart. The words from Romans 8:28 became a beacon of hope: "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." This scripture reminded me that my brokenness was not wasted. Rather, it was a vital part of my growth and refinement. My faith strengthened as I realized that surrendering my pain to God didn’t mean ignoring it but acknowledging it without letting it define my future. One thing that stood out for me during this journey was the deep healing that comes from faith — it heals everything. The anger, the disappointment, and even the sense of betrayal that once felt overwhelming started to lose their power. Walking with Jesus daily, even when the weight seemed unbearable, brought a peace I hadn’t known before. Healing, I learned, is not about forgetting the pain but about not allowing it to control you anymore. If you find yourself stuck in the cycle of pain, holding onto anger or bitterness, know that there is a path to freedom. It’s a process of emotional and spiritual growth where faith plays the central role. Trusting in God’s perfect timing and purpose helped me to release resentment and embrace a future filled with hope and growth. Just as the phrase says, "Faith Heals Everything," it truly does when we open our hearts and surrender. Remember, healing is a journey, not a quick fix. Surround yourself with supportive communities or friends who encourage you to keep growing. Share your story, your struggles, and your victories because personal experience often inspires others facing similar pains. The pain doesn’t get to write your story’s ending—faith does.
