GWの箱根ってどこも混むけど、「人混みは苦手。でも季節の花は見たい！」という日にちょうどよかったのが、芦ノ湖畔の【山のホテル】の庭園散策でした。宿泊しなくても庭園は無料で入れるので、穴場っぽく使えるのが嬉しいポイント。 ◆つつじの見どころ（開花状況のチェック方法も） 山のホテルの庭園は“後世に残すべき植物遺産”“ナショナルコレクション認定”と紹介されることもあるくらいで、規模感が想像以上。84品種・約3000株のツツジが斜面いっぱいに咲くので、満開タイミングだと写真が止まりません。開花状況は日によって差が出るので、行く前に「山のホテル つつじ 開花状況」で公式のお知らせやSNSの最新投稿を確認してから向かうのが安心です。 ◆歩きやすさ：スロープがあって散策しやすい 斜面の庭園ですが、スロープが整備されていて想像より歩きやすかったです。ヒールよりスニーカー推奨。のんびり回って、写真を撮りながらだと所要は45分〜1時間くらい見ておくと満足度高め。 ◆アクセスの現実解：元箱根港＋駐車場の考え方 公共交通なら「元箱根港」周辺を起点に動くとラクでした。元箱根港から山のホテル方面へはバス移動が便利。車の場合は敷地内無料駐車場があるのが助かります（GWは早め到着が安心）。満車が心配な日は、元箱根港周辺の駐車場に停めて、バスで移動するプランも“渋滞回避”としてあり。 ◆大人の1日プラン（神奈川で1日遊べる） 私のおすすめは、午前：山のホテル庭園でつつじ散策 → 昼：芦ノ湖周辺でランチ → 午後：箱根神社へ（アクセス良好）→ 余裕があればカフェ休憩。ホテル別館の【フラワーカフェ サロン・ド・テ ロザージュ】は外部利用できて、歩いたあとにちょうどいいです。 ◆注意点（知らないと損） ・展望室など一部は宿泊者専用の案内あり ・天気が良い日は富士山が見えるので、晴れ予報の日が本命 ・混雑回避なら朝早めor夕方寄りが写真も撮りやすい GWの「泊まり」でも日帰りでも、花×湖×クラシカルな雰囲気を一度に味わえる場所でした。箱根で落ち着いた大人旅をしたい人にかなり刺さると思います。
