10 MINS FROM JB CUSTOM & THIS GOOD?! 😭🍣

📍Warakuya Japanese Restaurant

honestly one of the CLEANEST & freshest sashimi i’ve had 😭 the sashimi platter may look pricey but the portion is HUGE and can easily be shared between 4–5 pax, so it’s actually pretty worth it!!

we went right at their 11:30am opening and there was already a queue 😭 by around 12:30pm, the restaurant was basically FULL — so definitely come early!!

the place itself is huge, super clean & feels quite luxurious ✨ there’s even a massage chair while waiting HAHAHA

and pls try the SGD10 hamachi kama shio… TO DIE FOR 🤤

for the quality + freshness, i would genuinely come back to JB just to eat this and head back to sg LOL 😆

⭐️ 4.3 /5 — would definitely come back!

... Read moreIf you're a sashimi lover hunting for authentic Japanese cuisine just a short drive from JB Customs, Warakuya Japanese Restaurant is a hidden gem worth visiting. What truly impressed me here was the exceptional cleanliness and the freshness of every slice of sashimi — it genuinely tasted like premium omakase quality without the high price tag. The sashimi platter, despite seeming pricey at first glance, actually offers generous portions that easily cater to groups of 4 to 5 people, making it great value for sharing. One of the best tips I found useful was to arrive right at opening time (11:30 am) to avoid the growing queue, which quickly fills the huge and spotless restaurant by noon. The ambiance adds to the entire experience, with a surprisingly luxurious feel highlighted by amenities like a massage chair in the waiting area — a unique touch that elevates your dining wait. Aside from the sashimi, the SGD 10 Hamachi Kama Shio is an absolute standout. It was juicy, flavorful, and left me craving more. The restaurant’s attention to quality and freshness is evident in every dish, keeping any fishy tastes completely absent. From my experience, Warakuya offers a seamless blend of quality, quantity, and ambiance, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy fresh Japanese food near the border area. If you’re visiting Singapore or JB, this spot deserves a special mention in your food itinerary. I would personally drive back just for this experience — it's that memorable!
