One of my favorite activities was kayaking through the crystal-clear waters, allowing me to fully appreciate the vibrant marine life and peaceful surroundings. Snorkeling is another must-do, with the nearby Belize Barrier Reef providing an incredible underwater world to explore. Don't miss out on trying the local cuisine, especially fresh seafood, which pairs perfectly with the island’s signature fruit rums. The laid-back atmosphere here makes every meal a delightful experience. Timing your visit is important; the best time to explore Caye Caulker is during the dry season from late November to mid-April, when the weather is most pleasant and less humid. If you're wondering whether Caye Caulker is worth a trip, I can confidently say yes. Its small size packs a big punch with diverse activities and a welcoming community. Whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation, this island is definitely a place to add to your travel list. Lastly, the welcoming sign at the island’s entrance, 'WELCOME TO HOUGHTS,' is a nice little reminder to slow down, reflect, and enjoy the simple joys of island life.
